I was actually hoping for a warmer white light. This is a very cool white color, I do like the design of it, the light is more equal with this LED bulb, as some of them only point upward. This light has a more even output. The bulb you should know for a bulb, is well....heavy. So if you have a great spot to light, want a white light that is dimmable, this is for you!!!

I am sold on the idea of LED bulbs, and am slowly planning to replace my mercury-containing CFLs with LEDs. They are expensive, but if they live up to their expected lifespan, it should be worth the cost. I used them in my 10-ft-high fixture, and I like the fact that I shouldn't have to climb up there to replace them for years and years.
I've found that the daylight white is good for some rooms, not as good for others. I particularly like the daylight bulbs in my windowless bathrooms. However, in the chandelier above our kitchen table, they were too bright.
This particular bulb gives off a good amount of light for 40watt equivalent. Love that it is dimmable. Time will tell how long it lasts.

I installed one bulb in a ceiling fan and left the other four as incandescent. On the positive side, it sheds more light for the amount of watts used and it doesn't get very hot. There is no "hum" from the bulb, which is why I don't have CFLs in that fixture. Also, it should last a very long time.
I am a fan of cool lighting-- somewhere in the 5K Kelvin range. But the color of this bulb is a bit too stark. It's funny looking and possibly over-engineered.
I may buy a few more of these bulbs just because of the humming factor, but I won't re-do the entire house.

This is the first light bulb, other than incandescent, I've ever used. I am very impressed with the quality & equivalent light output of a 60-watt incandescent bulb. It just screws in the socket like an ordinary incandescent bulb. They are expensive vs. the incandescent, but since I won't have to replace it for a very long time, it will probably pay for itself, overtime. The white color light it radiates, is very effective over the kitchen sink area, where I installed it. I highly recommend this Led light bulb.

This was my second LED bulb purchase, after I was very pleased with a different brand's 60w equivalent. That brand did not have a 40w daylight bulb, however, so I tried this one.
This bulb has very large unlit area at the top and bottom, providing only a ring of light around the middle. The lit area is covered by two plastic deflector rings that are loose and rattle around. I also found that this bulb is about a quarter of an inch wider in the middle, which made the difference between this bulb not fitting where another LED bulb did.
I ended up having to cut off the plastic rings to make the bulb fit, leaving the ring of LEDs exposed. This worked since the bulb is in a frosted enclosure, but otherwise the size (larger than standard A19 or CFL/LED equivalent) would be a major issue.

I'm very impressed with this bulb - it distributes light evenly and fully, unlike many other LED bulbs. It has a very modern look, the only thing its appearance seems to have in common with your typical light bulb is the shape, so if this is a turn off you might want to use these behind shades.
The shell is entirely plastic, which I found to be a plus as it means accidentally dropping the bulb won't result in a bunch of shards of glass and it might actually survive the fall. I think the plastic shell also helps it distribute the light evenly as it has a prism-like structure.
I got the daylight bulb, and the color rendition is vivid and accurate. Having owned numerous fluorescent daylight bulbs, I must say this one beats them all. Unlike fluorescent bulbs, it also turns on immediately to full strength and can be dimmed.

I replaced one of two fluorescent bulbs in a bedroom with the EcoSmart A19 8-Watt (40W) Daylight (5000K) LED Light Bulb. The bulb is instant on / instant off. The 5000k temperature of the EcoSmart LED bulb brings out the ture colors of the painted walls as well as the wood grain of the hickory flooring that was previously washed out and somewhat yellow tinted with the fluorescent bulbs. The other half of the room (still has a compact fluorescent bulb) seems dim and with a yellowish hue from the other lighting fixture. The LED light is crisper and appears much cleaner than the dull glow from an incandescent or fluorescent bulb. Rated comparable to a 40w bulb I believe this bulb gives off much more light than a 40watt incandescent or fluorescent. At 8 watts each and a wallet friendly price I plan to purchase several more for the rest of the house. I hope this bulb lasts 20 years!

every 6 months I would have to replace half of my light bulbs. I I would buy the 5yr bulbs, then the 7yr bulb and finally the 15yr bulbs, still had to replace some every 6 months.
I bought these ecosmart daylight dimmable LED and was able to actually forget about light bulbs.
