The EcoSmart 8 Watt PAR20 (50 Watt Equivalent) LED Light Bulb can be used to replace a PAR20 or 50 watt medium-base bulb. The bright white (3000K) LED floodlight has an output of 500 lumens and can last up to 25,000 hours for extended use, saving you up to $115.50 per bulb over the course of its life. They are true floods. I still need to buy halogen spots for long throw. I have not yet found a true narrow angle LED spot yet from any source...so far.

We use them in a curio which is 4 feet wide and 6.5 feet tall with 4 levels of glass shelving. The curio uses 2 bulbs and lights the entire cabinet twice as bright as the standard halogen bulbs of same wattage.

They are 3 3/8 inches from surface to base tip. They are the first ones I have found that don't stick out of my track lights.

I can't say for sure without taking it out of the fixture (which is a pain because it's in a high ceiling), but I kept the packaging, and the form-fitting cut-out is exactly 3.5 inches. This should be very close, if not exactly the same as the bulb itself.

They are not sealed against the weather. However, fixtures under eaves or somehow protected from weather somewhat might be possible, but certainly not guaranteed.

Hi Warren you can use outdoors, however the light can not be exposed to water. So the light can not be rained on or hosed off.

I purchased 2 of these for my new range hood. I like the idea of very bright light with little heat. At 50% there is more than enough light over the stove. I had actually been looking for spot lights to replace my 40 watts over the fire place because they are not bright enough. I think I found the solution with these bulbs.
