Product Overview

The EcoSmart 8 Watt PAR20 (50 Watt Equivalent) LED Light Bulb can be used to replace a PAR20 or 50 watt medium-base bulb. The bright white (5000K daylight) LED floodlight has an output of 575 lumens and can last up to 25,000 hours for extended use, saving you up to $115.50 per bulb over the course of its life. Ideal for use in track, recess and security lighting, this lamp can be dimmed for convenient light customization and helps minimize power consumption over time. The energy-efficient LED daylight floodlight ignites instantly (no delay) and operates coolly so it won't overheat recessed spaces or raise surrounding temperatures.

50W Equivalent Daylight (5000K) PAR20 LED Flood Light Bulb is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice and bright, but could be improved This bulb is VERY bright with a wonderful white light. I also bought the equivalent TCP LED bulb sold by Home Depot. That bulb is superior because it spreads the light across the entire surface of the bulb. Both bulbs are slightly longer than the halogen PAR20 I was replacing. My ceiling fixtures are designed for the 3" length of a halogen and these stick down further. Makes for a blinding light if looking at the ceiling. The other downside is the suction cup on a stick that I use to reach my 12 foot high fixtures does not work AT ALL with this bulb. If they could cover the top in glass like a halogen that would disperse the light better and allow a suction cup to be used. These are a night & day improvement over the equivalent CFL bulbs !!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I'd pass on this one. I'm not a fan of this particular model. On the box , it says - suitable for damp locations. I installed this outside, where no water could get at it, but on various very dew-ee mornings, I would notice the bulb flickering sometimes. I'm quite sure it was due to the humidity, since when I brought it in, and used it indoors, the flickering no longer took place. I had to remove it from outside, as it was close to my neighbors bedroom window, and I'm sure the person that was sleeping in the room, didn't appreciate the flickering. I'm also not a fan of this particular model, because, on the box, it says - Instant On. Well be prepared that if you use this model, with a dimmer (I'm using the Lutron CFL type dimmer), it, in no way, will turn on instantly. It actually takes about 3-4 seconds for it to turn on (I have 2 of these same bulbs on the dimmer, and they both take the same amount of time to turn on). I use them to light basement stairs, and it's an inconvenience to stand there and wait until they turn on, to walk down basement steps. It's really too bad about this design, because the amount of light given off by this bulb, is fantastic, at only 8 watts consumed. I have bought other Ecosmart Home Depot PAR 20 LED spots/floods, which performed perfectly (I still have them, and are using them), unfortunately, those models have now been discontinued. To sum up, I would have to say that this particular model bulb is badly designed, and I recommend you try another model, or brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Wonderful Bulb! I love this bulb! So much so, that I bought 7 of them. I am *very* particular about my lighting: everything has to be "just so". That said, I put the bulbs into accent uplight cans and these bulbs are perfect when the cans are placed into corners to splash light up the walls (FWIW I purchased the soft white version of the PAR20 LED bulb for the same effect in my living and dining room). I am extremely pleased with the results. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but it's going to last a long and like I said the effect is perfect for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for retail We replaced our old bulbs in our track lighting in our retail store and these bulbs made a world of difference. They really brightened up the shelf displays and save us a lot of money on our electric bill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright We had an ugly four ballast flourescent bulb fixture in our kitchen. It cast a lot of light even after two ballast had failed. We bought a new 4 bulb bronze track lighting system and tried 60 watt equivalent CFLs in it. The bulbs projected beyond the end of the holders which looked ugly and was too bright to look up at. But despite this the kitchen was not nearly as bright as with the old long flourescent bulbs. So I dropped $60 on four PAR20 bulbs. I chose the Day Light white light because they had the highest lumens rating. They are bright enough. My wife took a week to adjust to the bright white light but is now used to it. There were 3 or 4 PAR 20 bulbs by this manufacturer. In hindsight I might have been happier with the next brightest which had a warmer tone but I am perfectly satisfied with these. Paying this much per bulb seems like a lot but if the LEDs last and save electricity as advertised I'll recoup some cost. I compared cost for other brands of PAR20 bulbs and these were very competitive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deal LED flood for 20 bucks which will last up to 20 year or traditional Halogon Flood for 9 bucks which lasts one year. That is a great long term investment and saves a ton of energy with less heat. Works with most dimmers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome light bulbs! These bulbs shine beautifully, bright with no need of warming up like the CFLs, economical. And I love their clear cool white light, it feels refreshing and energizing. Hope they last!
