Rated 4 out of 5Â by Charlesm1950 My choice of 4 tested LED Retrofits
I tested this product and 2 others from Home Depot. I also tried a retrofit LED kit from Lowes. All have pluses and minuses. Here's what I found, maybe it will save you some time.
This product: EcoSmart ECO-575L $29.97 - least bright but as bright as 65W floods it replaces, warm 2700K color, instant on even at lowest dimmer setting, dims well, no gasket for air seal, cosmetically just average, and harder to install since you must remove bracket holding the lamp socket inside the recessed can fixture on the ceiling... awkward installation if up on ladder with high ceilings - chosen for light color, instant on, dimming and price. Fortunately, my ceilings are just 8 foot.
Lithonia Lighting 6BPMW M4 $29.97 - my second choice, brighter but cool 3000K light didn't work for my kitchen and dining area (probably fine elsewhere), instant on at all dimmer settings, dims well, cosmetically appealing, quick and easy to install with screw in pigtail wire and springs, no gasket - not chosen because of light color made kitchen and food not look as appealing. I wish Lithonia would make a 2700K version but they don't - at least nothing with that spec is on their website.
Commercial Electric CER6730WHH $29.87 - brightest of all tested but glaring because of light diffuser not recessed like the others, warm 2700K light color, dims well but has annoying delay before lighting up when switched on... 1/2 second at full brightness on dimmer but 3 - 5 seconds at lowest dimmer settings, easy to install with screw in pigtail wire and springs, has air seal gasket - not chosen because of delay in turning on could create a tripping hazard when going in kitchen late at night.
Utilitech Pro #0113539 $29.99 at Lowes - good brightness, warm 2700K light color, but has annoying lag when turning on with lower dimmer settings, didn't come on at all with dimmer at lowest setting, cosmetically nice, easy to install like the last two, has air seal gasket - not chosen because of delay turning on and not turning on at lowest dimmer setting.
Just to let you know - I installed all 4 at once in my kitchen and tried them with three different dimmer all from Lutron - the cheapest dimmer (< $15) didn't dim them all the way down in the bottom half of its range but the more expensive dimmer for LED and Fluorescent bulbs worked fine and the $50 Lutron Maestro multi-location dimmers worked fine even thought they say nothing about their use with LED lights on the packaging. All were brighter than the halogen flood lights in the other cans in the room when at the lowest dimmer setting, but consider they are probably using only 1 - 2 Watts each at that setting I don't mind the nice light for navigating the kitchen at night.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by jasontx Great light, huge energy savings!
These lights fit my recessed cans unlike the tension bars they hold in strong. I replaced each of these in under 5 minutes and that's with placing a bead of silicon around the edges to keep a seal. Replaced 9x of my 60 watts lights with these 9.5 watt LEDs. Thats only 15.8% of the energy I was using before and yes I do the math. Turning all of these on is less power usage that if I had only turned 2 of my old lights on.
Quality is great, they dim pretty well with my pre-installed dimmer. As they turn off, the last little bit flickers off, but who cares. If I had more to replace I would.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by fenichi First LED my wife can live with.
I have been wanting to replace the incandescent lights in the master bath for years. They generate a tremendous amount of heat, which we do not need in Florida, and they suck up the wattage. I have tried for 30 years to get my wife to turn off the lights when she is not using them, but, alas, to no avail. We tried CFLs but she couldn't stand the bluish cast, they took several minutes to reach full brightness and she complained of a buzzing noise. So I tried these with much trepidation. They were a snap to install once I figured out how to remove the existing fixture and she loves them! The light is indistinguishable from incandescent and you don't break out in a sweat if you stand under them. I don't know how long they will last (my wife still leaves them on all of the time), but we will see. Definitely worth a try.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by GPV48 Will not fit 6" DEEP can.
This is a great light and the prices are finally coming down on LEDs...BUT...if your ceiling cans are less than 6 1/2" DEEP, the lip will hang below the ceiling level.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by toolguy1964 Good Value - Nice Warm Lighting
We just converted our old flourescent lit kitchen to 6" recessed can lights and used these L.E.D.'s. I was reluctant at first because I thought that using only 6, 65W L.E.D. bulbs wouldn't brighten up the kitchen as much as 4, 4' flourescent tubes did but after the installation; we couldn't be happier. It really makes the oak kitchen cabinets "pop" now and the kitchen isn't blinding bright like it was with the flourescent lights. It has a nice "warm" tone to it now. This worked so well that we are going to be doing the same over our vanity in the master bath.
