Cool white CFLs and incandescent bulbs are fine in the bedroom, living room and dining areas, but in the bathroom you want light that helps you with your daily grooming. Screw these into the light bar above the mirror and you'll see yourself in the truest light.
These bulbs are instant-on with a short 10- to 15-second run-up to full brightness so they'll be fully warmed up by the time you step out of the shower. At first glance the human eye sees the light output as blue-tinged white but a glance in the mirror will dispel any fears of unnatural flesh-tones.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0Â by wolfinator Terrible mortality rate after 1 year
I bought a couple packs of these to use in a couple of fixtures around the house. Most notably to populate a bathroom vanity that my wife wanted "daylight" bulbs for, and a fixture I use a lot during the day.
One year on, and I've had a 40% mortality rate among the bulbs I purchased. One went bad after just a couple of months. I'm terribly disappointed.
I've bought a large number of EcoSmart CFLs before, all of the "soft white" variety. Never had a problem with them.
I don't know if I just got a bad batch or what, but I don't trust the quality control for these bulbs enough to try again. I would avoid these, and find a more proven brand.

I installed these light bulbs in the ceiling fan in my sewing area and what a difference!! They make all the rest of the light bulbs in this house seem yellow in comparison. When I'm going through my fabric I get true color rendition thanks to the whiteness of these bulbs. I will definitely purchase more of these.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0Â by HomeOwner Warranty is such a hassle.
I like the day light bulb. I bought these bulbs three years ago and three failed last week. Unfortunately I failed to keep the receipt of the bulb purchase which really doesn't matter since the receipt is printed on thermal paper and it goes blank after some time and the vendor will not replace the bulb with out a receipt. So if you are going to buy these bulbs for the warranty my suggestion is to scan the receipt to your computer and start a file for warranty that way you have your proof of purchase.

Excellent price. I bought a 4-pack to replace a light in the kitchen and to have some spares and to test other possible locations in the house where I could replace incandescent bulbs. This was the wrong color temperature for the kitchen in my home as it did not match up with the soft white hue that is emitted from the other 4 bulbs. I removed it from the kitchen and placed it with an additional bulb in the office which was lit with 2700K color temperatures. Great place for these bulbs, the bright light makes reading much easier, definitely had the wrong bulbs in the office before I installed the EcoSmart CFLs.
I really wanted a light bulb with a high Color Rendering Index (CRI) which is an indication of how similar the light is to that of sunlight. A good light has a CRI of 80 or above, these have a CRI of 86.9 according to Popular Mechanics, which is really good. I also learned from another website that all Energy Star approved bulbs have a CRI of 80 or above, though I haven't researched this enough to say it's true. These bulbs are excellent performers at a great price.
