CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I like the color of light it emits, but takes a very long time to "warm up" There is nothing special about these CFL bulbs. They were one of the cheaper R30 CFLs I found and they have been working fine for me for the past 6 months and I'm very happy with the cooler 3500k color they emit. They are definitely whiter (more like typical fluorescent) than your typical incandescent bulbs. This is not a complaint, because I was looking for this color, but it's just a warning for those of you who are expecting a more standard, yellower, incandescent color. I would have given it a 4 or 5 star, but these CFL takes upwards of 2 minutes to reach maximum brightness, and not only that, they start off very dim. This is expected behavior for CFL bulbs, but in my experience, most do not take that long. I have relatively cheap CFL bulbs that start off brighter and reach max brightness faster. Also note, these are NOT dimmable. But, there are dimmable versions of these bulbs for a few dollars more. Although I only gave it 3 stars, mainly because of the time it takes to warm up, I would still recommend them for the price. January 11, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Still going strong after two years Surprised to see the negative reviews on life. I've had these bulbs in my kitchen for at least two years, with everyday use. Yes, they start out pretty dim and take at least a minute to come to full brightness, but I knew that when I bought them. I have 6 can lights in my kitchen, I use 4 of these along with 2 incandescent lights, so I have some usable light until these warm up. But just recently I bought some Ecosmart LED BR30 bulbs here at Home Depot, and they are awesome. $50 for 4, free shipping, instant on, dimmable, look just like incandescent. No more CFLs for me. I will use these CFLs until they burn out, since they only use 4 more watts than the LED and are already paid for, but I will replace them with LED. June 21, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by What I Expected Purchased 2 of these to try in my newly built basement space that has 20 5" can lights so I could see how they did lighting up the space. I'm no stranger to the EcoSmart brand as most of my house's fixtures are loaded with their CFL's. The 3500k color is a nice whte light with a hint of blue...perfect for a dark basement space. The bulb does take a few minutes to reach it's full illumination, but there is adequate light at first start-up. Overall construction of the product is decent, but not great. There are certainly better options out there, but you will pay more for them. For me, these are what I need at a good price. September 3, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by EcoSmart_Cheap Glass !!!! used in ceiling can with standard switch, bulbs blew out after two months, when removed outer glass broke . do not have receipt to return, bulbs were thrown out. EcoSmart tough to deal with. will buy and stick to GE, they stand by their product, with no questions asked. January 15, 2010
