Customer Questions & Answers

what is the base diameter (screw in part)

I took the bulb out of a 1930's floor lamp and was shocked how huge it was. Not only was the glass bulb part huge but the base or screw in part was obviously larger than any bulb I have ever replaced. Do you sell the CFL version or cheap burning bulbs in a size for this old floor lamp?
Asked by: Susan
The largest base we manufacture is the E26, or Standard Edison-type base. It is approximately 1" (2.5cm) in diameter at the widest point.

Customer Reviews

65W Equivalent Bright White (3500K) R30 Dimmable CFL Flood and Spot Light Bulb is rated 2.2 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Burnout Rate I have recess lighting throughout my entire house, more than 30 high hats, and installed these bulbs in almost every room apprx two years ago. It was a significant financial commitment that I now regret. Some bulbs burnt out within 30 days and others within a few months. It seems like a never ending cycle of periodic bulb replacement every few months. I have a bag full of these bulbs to return today. I'm very frustrated and am anxious to find a better quality bulb. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE LIGHT BULBS.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, but . . . Just had our kitchen re-done. We have 5 recessed fixtures in the ceiling. We wanted dimmable fluorescent bulbs. We went with bright white because all the other bulbs made our new honey maple cabinets look very yellow. These have a nice, clean light. They only dim about 1/3-1/2 of range before they go out. We can live with that. However, after about 1 week one bulb just started flickering and then it went out. It will go back to HD.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth the price They are supposed to last 7 years. They are starting to all burn out after 2-3 years. The other issue is that it takes about 5 minutes to warm up in the morning, so it is like you only have half the amount of brightness for about 5 minutes. Not at all what I expected especially after paying twice as much for each light compared to old regular lights.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dimmable? Great price, love the efficiency rating, however.. The spectrum of dimming is minimal, to the point at which I would recommend just getting the non dimmable ones. In addition, I have already had to replace 2 of these lights within the 1st month of usage. The good news is that Home Depot is great with there return policy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from High failure rate I installed these bulbs two weeks ago. Three out of six failed already. Customer service was great about taking them back, but a 50% failure rate is really bad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 8000 hour claim not met Box claims 8000 hours, that is 3 years, assuming 8hrs/ day. About half will last that long, the others will die within 1 year.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Burnt out in 6 months I bought these about 1 year ago and had to take them back to the store about 6 months ago since they all burnt out. I decided to try another box since I thought maybe those were just defective. Big mistake, now a year later all of those light bulbs have since burnt out as well. Will return and get my money back!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dimmable? Would not recommend these. Poor quality. Dimmable about to half and then cut off. Returned these and purchased LEDs. Much happier with the LEDS!
