These give off a ridiculous buzzing sound when installed. The the installation of one or two of these in an area might not be noticeable, but after installing six in my basement I felt as though I was in a bee hive. Spend the extra few bucks and buy a higher quality light like Cree or Philips.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by dissapointed This is not the same as the original version
It makes me very disappointed that Home Depot has replaced the older version of this light (ECO-575) with this one. The original is based on the Cree CR6-625L with TrueWhite® technology (using a combination of green and red LEDs and yielding CRI 90+). This version uses only yellow LEDs and has the designation of being "Full Definition". It is inferior to the original albeit slightly cheaper.
I really wish EcoSmart/Home Depot would bring back the original. I considered it the best residential LED retrofit on the market at a reasonable price. The light output of this version is no better than buying cheap $6 LED A19 bulbs; I don't consider it worth it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cris Great product.
I replaced about 25-30 75 watt down-cans in my house with these units. The LED units only use 9.5 watts each. While researching my purchase, I bought 6 brands of replacement LED units, and tried each of them at full light and then at various levels of dimming. They all change color as they get dimmed, some dramatically (blue/green tones). This Ecosmart unit was by far the best at color retention when dimmed. Very happy with them. Be aware that no residential grade LEDs dim as far down as incandescents, typically only to about 40-50% light level for the LEDs vs 5% for incandescents.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jim31 Not as good as the real Cree CR6
This product is based on the Cree CR6, but it's not as good. The trim ring isn't as nice, the light doesn't look as nice, and most disappointing is the "mid range dimming." It didn't realize what that means, but here's what it means: you can dim from full brightness to about 50% brightness, then it just turns off. The CR6 pretty much faces until it's barely visible and never turns off. The CR6 is slightly more extensive, but totally worth it. I have nearly 20 of them, and after buying these thinking they were the same, I'm taking them back. They are not.

About as convenient as it gets, screw the downlight into the can and turn on the switch. The fixture can may have to be adjusted up or down for the downlight's built in trim ring to wind up in the right location. I really like the 2700K color, it's a very good match for incandescent lights.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sher Replacement Lights for recessed lighting
Replaced all recessed celling lights with these and a dimmer. The previous ceiling lights used a high level of electricity and were generated a lot of heat when on. These provide more light if needed, or soft light if preferred. I would recommend them to anyone as a great replacement for old recessed lighting.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by followthelight Good light, easy install
We are happy with the light, its uncomplicated installation, and the look of the trim. My one complaint would be that it doesn't dim enough when using the dimmer switch. We read that the 575L dims more and found that to be true after buying some of them. We now have both installed in our basement. They look practically the same, but since we use a dimmer switch, I prefer the 575L.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by merkurmaniac I bought a bunch of them and they are amazing
I replaced a bunch of incandescents in the house that we just purchased. These give a clean, high quality look to the old can lights. Visitors have asked for the part numbers, since they love how you don't see any pig tail from a CFL, and you don't see the inside of the can fixture lurking up behind the bulb. Very nicely made and easy to install.
