To make them fit in my Halo 5001 trim I had to deepen the slots that hold the socket in the BR30 position from 1/4" to 3/8". Otherwise the ribs on the back of the bulb hit the baffle before the socket makes contact. Then had to rig the bulb with duct tape in order to screw into the recessed fixture because the fit is so close. Once installed they seem to look and work fine. I hope they will last as advertised.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by Easybuilder Eco Smart - Very Good LED Bulb
Bulbs have been service for over a month. No failures.
Installed with LED dimmer. No flickering, buzzing, or
rf interference. Full range of dimming. I did not measure
the brightness, but they are brighter than other 65W
equivalent bulbs I have seen. Good color.
These bulbs are wider than the standard BR-30. That
may be why Home Depot discounted them. Make sure
your fixture can accept the wider bulbs. In my case, I
had to remove the fixture cover to install the bulbs.
These bulbs are made by Lighting Science Group, a
Florida company. I have purchased many LSG bulbs
in the last year and never had a problem.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0Â by Eric815 Only lasted 8 months with minimal use. Fits fine though.
On contrary to what others have said, these bulbs fit fine in my HALO 5" cans with 4" trim ring. I had four of these in my basement office and lit it nicely. Installed them about 8 months ago. One buld just blew. These LED bulbs (for the cost) should last many years. I am extremely disappointed as I thought the Cree branded bulbs were the best. I have 10 of the 6" retrofits in my den for about a year and they still work great. But the BR30 bulb is disappointing. Do I replace it with another costly LED of the same model to match the others, or do I replace them all, cause if I pick a different brand to replace one bulb, it will not match and look funny. The one thing I loved of the disposable incandesants was that no matter brand, they were all pretty compatible and matched. Thes LED investments will get costly as they burn out one by one and matching replacements aren't aval when they are discontinued and replaced by newer models. In my current case its a current model which also worries me. I should not have a burned out LED after 8 months that I have minimal hours on. Are they even warranteed?

The color and light output were excellent. I will admit it was on more than three hours a day, but still, an incandescent would have lasted this long and paid for its electricity by being so much less expensive up front. Disappointed and buying a name brand next, to day the least.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by Barry Nice light bulb
These seem expensive when you buy them but they are supposed to last for 22 years and use less electricity so they are worth it. I'm slowing converting to all LED light bulbs but I have to wait for my CFL bulbs to all wear out. It looks well made and the light is pretty good. I like a fairly white light and this one is somewhere between the bright white and the more orange ones. Good compromise.
