Not all PAR30 bulbs are equal. There are long neck, and short neck bulbs, albeit with the same bulb diameter. I needed a short neck for the bathroom shower light fixture, but this bulb is a long neck, too long for my purpose. It is wet-rated, so would otherwise be the right bulb. I put this one in a different outdoor fixture, however, and it puts out a bright white light. I like how the color temp remains the same even when dimmed. LED bulbs are the best!

LEDs are now. The price is steadily dropping, and the performance exceeds CFLs by a good margin. Here is this bulb in an ordinary desk lamp - an instant grow-light! For this sort of use, I have read light levels more than 10 times higher than CFLs, and it is apparent in the plant growth as well. Only 'daylight' bulbs are suitable for plant lights, but I use them all over for their brightness and even color. They also make great aquarium lights. This bulb throws a nice even beam, suitable for many other uses as well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PEANUT GOOD LOOKING BULB THAT IS USEFUL FOR MANY DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS
I am really pleased with this LED PAR 30 flood light bulb from Ecosmart. This 75W equivalent daylight output light bulb gives off a nice white bright light that is great for many different applications from use in recessed lights and track lights in kitchens, hallways, etc. and in outside security lighting. This bulb will even work great in commercial applications. The flood light bulb is fully dimmable and will save money compared to regular flood light bulbs including CFL types.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Nice, Bright light, but appeared a bit bluish to me, I like the 3000K version just a little bet better.
Used to be that a light bulb was a light bulb and that I simply bought low watt bulbs when I needed just a little light, to save on the electric bill, and the brightest ones I could find that would safely fit my fixtures for task lighting. I've been playing with a number of LED lamps over the past few years, and as this technology matures, I find I am becoming pickier about which lamps I prefer. I ordered one of these in 3000K and one in 5000K to see which I liked better. Both give nice bright light, but I personally prefer the 3000K over the 5000K. I installed these in a pair of matching desk lamps and switched back and forth. In the end, I decided to use this one (5000K) in a sheltered outdoor fixture to light the area where I keep the trash cans.
Both lamps give clear, bright light, and I would be perfectly happy with either if there was no choice, but since LED lamps should last 20 years or so, and will end up using very little electricity, it is well worth your while to buy a few different ones and make some comparisons. Put the ones you don't like so much in a basement hall way or a storage closet.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by porchguy Great for a work light
Don't hesitate because of the price. Compared to a fluorescent 75 watt bulb that I bought for about half as much, the LED really works,
I got this to use as a work light at the bench and it does a great job. I wanted something that would deliver a clean, bright light and this does that. I've got it in an adjustable work light, mounted about 30 inches above the bench. Gives a circle of bright light a bit over 20 inches in diameter. When I'm checking out the bevel edge on a chisel I've got a very well illuminated view of the edge. For checking out small items or small details on something it makes all the difference.
Big plus for me, I don't have to worry about burning my arm or fingers if I bump into the bulb.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nick That's a Nope
I ordered this to replace a 50 Watt flood light bulb in the back yard. It did not live up to expectations. It did not seem to shine as brightly as that bulb, and gave a really odd bluish light. The light is focused on a very small area, making it essentially useless for any good-sized outdoor space. I would not recommend these really for any application, light tone and size of lighted area are just not up to snuff.
