I saw a review on another website that indicates, "Manufacturer claims that bulb can be used outdoors but must be completely protected from direct contact with moisture."

Answer:
Outside fixtures must be rated for damp location product.
If the fixture is not rated for that application the bulb will experiences premature failure on the field and the replacement will not be cover under the warranty

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Causes TV Interference This bulb causes severe TV interference on Channel 7 (177 MHz) over-the-air signals even though it bears an FCC certification mark. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Light up the night I use three of these bulbs to illuminate the outside of my house, all night long. The glaring, bright light keeps raccoons from digging up my yard. And, the electricity use is low. Much better than the 60 watt (equivalent) CFL bulbs I was using. February 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Work great for me and no flicker Almost gave up finding bulbs small enough and rated properly for my lamp with enough brightness for my room. I have these two bulbs on an X10 dimmable lamp module with a wireless remote. Only have these a few days but they are bright (although I would like to have this size in 100W) and dim much better than CFL bulbs I have in another room. No flicker at full brightness or while dimmed. Sounds like the other reviewer may have power line issues. No doubt prices on LED technology will decrease, after all we are still talking about a light bulb! For now it seems this is what you have to pay. Other than the high price, they work for me ;) October 27, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by good color but noticeable and distracting flicker. The color (warm 2700K) and brightness (75W incandescent equivalent) were on target, and the price was a bit less than the equivalent from Philips. The lighting elements ringing the top and bottom were pretty. Problem: However the flicker was clearly visible. If you turned your head or looked around the room when the bulb was in your field of view, you'd easily see flicker, and the light in the room was also unsettling. I'm guessing the flicker rate was the rock bottom 60 Hz. Also upon dimming the bulb behaved even more erratically with filcker becoming more visible. I replaced this with a Philips brand bulb.
