Bought a four-pack of these to replace a combination of dimmable fluorescent and incandescent lamps in my kitchen. The fluorescents did not dim well, and didn't last very long, so I was looking for something better. These lamps provide a lot of clean, bright light, and are easily dimmed. As a matter of fact, they are so bright that I usually have them set at 60-70% of maximum on the dimmer and it's still almost operating theater bright. I liked them so much that I immediately ordered four more so that the entire kitchen could be matched, and am very pleased. Only complaint is that they seem to cause static on the radio when they are on, but that is a small problem. They do take a second or two to come on when the switch is flipped, but is minor compared to the warmup time of most fluorescent lamps. Obviously more expensive than incandescent lamps, but they should last for years.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by HomeownerInUSA I would recommend this product, but...
The light is a harsh white, like an industrial flourescent tube. They don't turn on instantly. If there are six together in a ceiling, they come on at different times, like a strobe light or flash bulbs. Unlike a spot bulb, the light shines outward and not down, which casts a harsh light on the ceiling. I could see using these outdoors on a pathway, but not recommended in a kitchen, dining area, or bedroom. They dont dim all the way, and the light is harsh even when fully dimmed. I removed them immediately because people and food looked so unappealing. I'm told I can return them, but the return process is not going as expected, so we shall see...

I put four of these in our MBR, controlled by a Lutron dimmer. When we turn the light on, it's like fireworks or lightning on our bedroom because the four lights go on and off individually for about 3 minutes before finally all come on full bright. They also do not dim down properly.
I've bought about a dozen of these bulbs for different places in our home. 2 of them didn't last a year. Thankfully, Home Depot exchanged them for new without question. Suggestion: If you buy these, keep the boxes in case return is needed.
I think LED bulbs are the future, but they're not quite ready yet.

I have been purchasing and installing these LED bulbs for a little over a year and have been completely satisfied with them. I like the fact that they are 75 watts instead of the usual 60 to 65 watts. I have a 18 ft. ceiling in my great room and the additional light they produce is a big help. They take a fraction of a second to turn on after the wall switch is flipped, but they come on at full intensity unlike compact fluorscents. As I mentioned, Ive been using these bulbs for over a year and haven't had a failure yet. I recommend them highly.

I have six of these in my kitchen. They are nice and bright, the color is OK, and the price is lower than that of many other comparable LED's. Yes, there's a delay when you switch these on. I would estimate that it takes a full second, no more. That's typical of LED bulbs and it's really the most trivial of first-world problems. But if it really matters to you, don't buy them because those seconds add up, and if the bulbs last 23 years as advertised, that's more than two hours of your life you will have wasted waiting for the lights to come on.

These lights are okay. They have a slight delay when turning then on. It's not real annoying unless you have them on the same switch as an incandescent and then the delay is real obvious. For $15 a whack they will work for me... I bought one Cree @ $20 and compared them side by side...other than the delay they were exactly the same... 2700k color temp was comparable to and incandescent. Dimmable is something that needs to be "defined" These will "dim" but they not nearly like an incandescent does.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by adztec I bought this last nite and was like....WOW!
I had been using a recessed 75w light bulb in a 60w recommended fixture and still felt slighted on my lumens. So I had saw this a few months ago and thought if it works this is just what I need reading and computing at my dining room table each night. So I turned on the power and after a second or two BAM!...Let there BE LIGHT!...and there was! amazingly a super bright LED. So what it it takes a second or two? The light is great and the savings far exceed the cost or shall I say investment!.
