Can I use this thermostat to control a vent fan? The fan is installed in the ceiling of the second story of the house and vents hot air from the house and pulls in cool air from open windows. The current thermostat can be set to a desired temperature and turns on the fan when the temperature upstairs gets higher than the specified temperature and turns it off when the temperature gets below the specified temperature.
Asked by: GBinMichigan
Hello GBinMichigan! In looked into the Economy Heat/Cool Manual Thermostat thermostat for you. Unfortunately, it appears that this thermostat does not have the ability to control a separate independent ventilation system. I hope this helps. Have a wonderful day!

Would this work for a 2 wire gas fireplace? No blower controls needed.
Asked by: BigCal
Hey BigCal! Yes, this thermostat should work, assuming your fireplace uses a millivolt or low-voltage control. If your wires are thicker than 18 AWG, we'd recommend contacting an HVAC Contractor.

#1can i set to 40F and #2 fan delay

lowest setting tem is? or lower to what lowest? my fan does not turn on or off when I switch heat on and off. there is a delay of say 3 minudtes? is that planned or do I have a problem?
Asked by: tomt
Thank you for the inquiry! This thermostat is able to be set as long as 50F. Once the temperature has reached the set point or the system is turned to off the fan and heat should turn off immediately.

Never had batteries to deal with. And was easy to see and adjust the set point. This thermostat doesn't have all of those qualities. But ahhh, life did just get better.

The brittle plastic clips that hold the faceplate broke off when I first opened the unit to screw it to the wall - then had to use tape to hold the unit together. As a basic thermostat it otherwise does the job however.
