Thank you for your question. The best way to accomplish your request and still allow the board to be removed would be to use wood screws drilled from underneath your current plywood top.
In order to do this you must measure carefully so as not to have the wood screw come up through the top. So measure the depth of your plywood and then the depth of the Butcher Block top. Chose a wood screw that will not go deeper than 50% into the top of the Butcher Block. Also another hint to help is to pre-drill a pilot hole with a much smaller drill bit, again drilling only 50% of the depth of the Butcher Block Top (careful to not puncture the top). This will help prevent any splits or punctures in the butcher block top.
I hope this helps. Read Less

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Island top butcher block We bought this to place on an island. the quality and beauty is fantastic. I love this purchase. Strong wood and gorgeous. May 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth the money The workbench top had many holes that I needed to fill because the boards were not well put together. I ordered this via the countertop people at Home Depot and they said it would work nicely as an island peice but it really was not ready to be used in this way but it was too costly to return so we now just put a table cloth over it so we could have went with something much cheaper. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks like furniture For our worktable which we constructed with galvanized pipes for the base, we wanted a butcher block top for looks and functionality, since the table would be visible in a retail studio. I shopped around and checked out custom tops; with the ease and cost of shipping the Home Depot butcher block workbench top to the store, the price was by far the best. So I chose by cost, hoping for the top to look good. It's GORGEOUS! Well made and expensive looking. It's not possible to beat this workbench top in price and looks. A great product!!
