Customer Questions & Answers

Can this shelf be use in a wet area?

Can this shelf be use in a wet area?
Asked by: 7912
Yes this shelving deck can be used in a wet area. If you are going to use it to store wet items as they dry out it would work well, if using it submerged under water it won't fair well at all over time.

What's the difference between "Wire Deck" (WD2424) and "Wire Shelf" (WD3024) -- other than depth

What's the difference between "Wire Deck" (WD2424) and "Wire Shelf" (WD3024) other than depth?
Asked by: Alan
There is no difference other than one being 24" and the other being 30". I would advise going with the steel decking if you plan to have heavy point loads as opposed to a distributed load.

product: 18 in. D x 24 in. W Wire Deck: what is the dimmension of the wire grids?

Asked by: cathyp
I believe they are 18" x 24" and are made by the manufacturer for that rack. May be used two different ways. Available in several sizes for depth of shelves purchased.

How heavy is the shelf itself? What is the grid's size of the unit so objects don't fall through? Is it rust resistant?

Wire panel weighs 4 lbs each. It is rust resistant. Grid pattern is 2" x 3".

Customer Reviews

1 in. H x 24 in. W x 15 in. D Wire Deck Shelving in Silver is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wire Shelf Size Different Than Advertised Bought these wire racks to make a 2' deep x 16' long overhead garage storage shelf but had to wait until I received them for final dimensions. They actually measure 22" deep by 23-1/2" wide so I had to change my design slightly. I couldn't find any actual dimensions on line so called Edsal and the dims they gave were not correct. I'm glad I waited until I got them to build the frame for them. Hopes this helps someone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job The wire racks are spot welded which is the most economical for assembly, but it isn't very strong. We dropped one of the racks during assembly and the weld broke. The racks also deflect under more than about 100 lbs. I had to lay plywood or boards across them to distribute the weight so they wouldn't sag too far. I would recommend the steel shelving over trying to say money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wrong size The other review was correct. Actual size is 15"x23". Not 18"x24".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very durable. I use these wire decks in the slow grazer hay feeders that we made for our horses. Their opening are the perfect size and they stay looking great despite the beating our horses sometimes give them. Nice product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy duty - great price I bought this in conjunction with the Edsal96 in. W Steel Beam for Welded Rack and Edsal72 in. H x 24 in. D Steel Welded Frame for Rack. The whole package delivered came to $338.63. It perfect for work shop or garage storage. It is heavy duty enough to accept those heavy, bulky items that you wouldn't trust on regular-duty shelving. The system is easily assembled in under 15 minutes and ready to go.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not happy I ordered this item twice and instead of a 18in x 24in I received a 15in x 24 in I believe Home Depot needs to check the item # and see if there is a 18 in. x 24 in deck thank you, James Austin
