Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by John Great product some flaws
The overall construction is very durable, but if you planning on stacking the shelves get something else that isn't two pieces. This isn't for you. The wood tops at flimsy pieces of MDF (medium density fiberboard) and should be replaced with 3/4" ply wood or something extremely durable to take a beating. Also it makes the top of the bench smooth and you don't snag your hands on the top steel edges. Other than all that, it's very nice.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nancy Exactly what I wanted!
I ordered two of these shelf units, and love them! Had a little difficulty with my husband while putting them together, lol, but wow, are they sturdy and strong! Love that they hold so much weight. These are perfect for what I wanted...only now I want more! Highly recommend these!

The corners of the boards and the package ( shelving unit box) were broken.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Audskey Extra storage shelves
The shelves will be useful to my needs. I wish that the frames were made a little sturdier or durable. Overall I am satisfied.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wellspring Sturdy, but problems joining top & bottom
I've purchased at least 20 of these Edsal units in various sizes for myself, and for the women's center where I do maintenance work. They are very sturdy, and they assemble quite easily. The only problem, is attaching the upper half of the shelving units to the bottom. Some attach by simply bridging a shelf between the top and bottom, and some have clips. Neither solution is perfect, although I prefer the clips. I would prefer to bolt the top and bottom together using drilled shelf brackets to make the connection. I've never had a shelf unit collapse on me, but this top-bottom connection is definitely the "weakest link."

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nocturnalenemy Very Sturdy
Shelving is very sturdy, and fairly easy to put together. The wood shelf itself is a little thin, but it seems to hold whatever I stack on it just fine. I also purchased a 48" wide unit and those shelves came painted black, while these were not painted at all.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TheCatsServant Sturdy, easy assembly, VERY cheap wood shelves
Everything assembled in minutes, and I'm NOT handy. The unit is very sturdy and should easily hold what I need in the garage. My main complaint is that the wood shelves are the cheapest sawdust pressboard I've ever seen. They seem sturdy enough but be prepared for edges and corners to be ragged, very ragged. I'm going to have to seal these with varnish because - if you so much as sneeze on them - I suspect they'd swell up and fall apart. I'll probably wind up replacing the included shelves with heavy plywood in the future.
Again, ease of assembly (these would be a breeze to disassemble as well) - and the solid metal framework - makes the storage unit a decent value.
