After assembling the rack I realized that the shelves were made of pressed wood. For what I'm stacking it with it will work out fine. I wouldn't recommend it for heavy mechanical greasy items.

The package was supposed to contain 8 upright posts. It only contained 4.
The package was unopened when I brought it home. I've learned the hard way NEVER to buy an opened package from Home Depot as parts will be missing with 99% certainty. Didn't matter this time. The package was sealed and parts were still missing.
I shouldn't have been surprised as there is a separate insert with the instructions which gives you an number to call if any parts are missing. Obviously this happens enough for them to give you the Edsal customer service number ready to go.
The shelf claims to be able to hold 2,000 pounds. I seriously doubt that as the shelves are very flimsy.
Home depot needs to seriously reconsider using this company as a vendor.

The shelves were difficult to put together with out some help. It does need two people.
The great thing about them,, they are very sturdy and got hold very boxes and tools.
There is definitely NO wiggling our bowing from weight.

Home Depot - you owe it to your customers to sell products that are not defective.
Employee at HD suggested this brand over the others. I purchased three of these and will now have to suffer with these - $150.00 in total for shelves with metal parts that were bent, warped "wood composite" shelves, plastic angles to put on the bottom don't stay on and don't get to close as it wouldn't take much for them to fall over.
Problem with heavy DIY products: by the time you purchase them, get them to a location, beg someone to help you put them together - you just can't take them apart, put them in the boxes and bring them back.
Home Depot - maybe Edsal made good products once upon a time, but not anymore. You should be making sure you are selling products that will keep customers, and not ones that will upset and disappoint them.

Outstanding product. We just got flooded in Prairie View, Tx. Many of the items were floating in our garage but not the shelves.

Here's the trick to dealing with the couplers... once you tap them into place on the bottom rails, they tend to slide further down once you begin tapping the top rails into them. You will need to drill a hole through the bottom rail, via the hole already in the coupler, so that you can place a screw in there --- to keep it from continuing to slide down once you begin tapping the top rails into place. It's the only thing that will hold the couplers in place while you work on attaching the top rails. See attached photo. This must be done before attempting to attach the top rails! Because there's no way to remove the couplers if they go down too far.
