I ordered these shelves on line because I had a maximum of 30 inches in width to work with. The holes did not line up well at all. I have put many of these shelves together so I knew not to tighten anything until it was all together. The long side of the shelves are folded under with a hole cut to put the nut on the screw. Your finger does not fit in the hole to hold the nut. The hole does not always line up with the screw. A lot of the pieces were bent and I had to straighten them as best that I could. I did not return them since they were going into a hidden corner anyway. It made me say bad words. I don't like to say bad words.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by NEKtoOR Good for wine storage
This is the second one of these we have owned (left the first one when we moved). It is somewhat awkward to put together, even with two people, and I would not use it for heavy items. However, it is perfect for wine bottle storage, and fits well into a closet in our new home. Modifications to use for wine storage: make sure you install the shelves with the lip UP (they will install either direction), line the inside of the shelves with bubble wrap (to keep the bottles from rolling), and paint the front edge of each shelf with white board paint (so you can use an erasable dry marker to identify the wines).

It was easy to assemble, it just took a long time due to the large number of tiny nuts and bolts. Isn't very sturdy, so I am not sure the shelves will not bow or bend over time with full canning jars on it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CheeseheadInParadise Looks great but not super sturdy
I bought this shelving unit to use in my teenage son's room to store books and other display items. It is perfect for that, but not much more. It is definitely not heavy duty. The shelves themselves are somewhat flimsy and easily bent. I would not use it for canning, as its description implies.
Assembly was quite frustrating. The included assembly directions for this unit are not helpful whatsoever. I looked around for online instructions or YouTube videos but came up empty, so I went rogue and just figured it out on my own. It's not that difficult once you get going. I will say, we mounted ours to the wall for extra stability. There are no anchor pieces included with the unit so I would recommend planning to pick some up along with your shelves.
If you're looking for an inexpensive, decorative shelving unit, this one fits the bill. If you're thinking you're going to put heavy items on it, you might want to upgrade.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DIYFan Once assembled, great for the money.
Won't lie, the assembly instructions are not great and I felt like I needed an extra set of hands to put it together easily. I ordered two units and one had significant shipping damage to the package and shelves inside which were bent quite badly. The metal, however, bent back into usable shape so I didn't return. I assembled them by myself and the second one went much more quickly after I figured out how to do it and quit trying to use the directions. Once assembled they are fairly solid and hold my stuff well. Just have to get them assembled first!

These shelves are not only strong and easy to assemble, they are nice to look at. They work beautifully as book shelves in my Living Room.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mike Sturdy, adaptable,
Construction was fairly easy after reading the directions...I commend the person who put together the directions...They were clear and the pictures were fairly clear... I only had to force a couple of the joints..I do recommend a hammer for a female person...The shelves are strong, but you need a level floor or they have a tendency to tip...Shims also work for the finished product...I suggest a heavy screw into a stud in the wall if you have kids....
