Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BreckGirl Wonderful set of shelves
I needed shelving to carry lots of heavy books and a huge assortment of 'things'. These do just that. They also needed to be easy enough for a 70+ year old woman to assemble by herself...again, they are that. I will be getting more for my garage.

I purchased both the 36 inch model and the 60 inch model. The difference is night and day. The 36 inch stands securely assembled at it's full 72 inch height in my garage. It even included couplers that allow the stacking of both pieces. This 60 inch model is more like a house of cards. I cannot believe that they do not include any way to safely stack the unit even though it's clearly advertised as 72 inches high. I tried calling Edsal direct several times and they will not return my call even though the piece of paper that comes in the box says "We are here to help". I will be returning this unit to Home Depot.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Strdst Good, but a couple of issues
I got these shelves for storage in my basement. They come pretty much as advertised -- correct dimensions, assembles fairly fast, hold a lot of weight. There were a couple of things I did not like: 1) the upright frame pieces come in two 3ft pieces instead of 6ft each. This means that the middle shelf has to be in the middle to connect the two pieces. You can't adjust it up or down. Also the joint where the two upright pieces attach is weaker than if it was a single piece. 2) The shelves themselves are cheap 1/2 inch particle board. I was expecting metal. They do seem to be holding up fine so far.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TampaDan Very strong, fixed-position middle shelf, arrived dirty
Heavy duty 60" x 24" are hard to find. I refinished these with stain & polyurethane for an interior closet. They are very strong, but a mallet is needed for assembly. The 72" vertical supports are two-pieces, each 36" high, so you MUST put one shelf in the middle (at 36") to rest the upper supports on that shelf. That limits versatility for shelf placement. The pressed-wood shelves were not boxed when shipped, just banded together so they arrived chipped & dirty. No complaints about the sturdiness & strength, should last forever.

Easy to assemble even though the instructions were not great. Feels solid. A little expensive for what it is.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dobrmom Very good and sturdy.
This is a very sturdy and usable unit. The only issue we had was that it was somewhat confusing to assemble, and my husand is a very handy handyman. He's built several decks, fences and we spent 2010 building our own 2100 square foot home. But the directions sometimes caused issues, and we had to go buy nuts and bolts to steady shelving where we wanted it to be.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ZarkovPhd Caution: Two Piece Post System
Be aware that the "Two Piece Post System" simply sits atop the lower post and is held in place by a shelf. I think a separate joining coupler should fasten the posts together. This also forces the fixed location of one shelf to be the center location. Depending on the size of containers/items stored, this can limit the useful amount of vertical shelf space.
