CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 1.3 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by It's warm, but a pretty piddly little stream of water for it to be so. OK, I've now had this running for about a week.... And, I think I see the main issue when you're considering purchase of this In-line Heater is in being able to determine if it can get hot enough for your needs. The problem is, just how much water is 3gpm, or 1gpm, etc? So, here is what I found out after installation: The water coming from my faucets without the In-line Heater is pretty cold... probably around 50 degrees, I'd guess... It's cold enough that it's uncomfortable to wash my hands in. In the Guest Bath where I installed the In-line heater, as long as I turn the faucet down to a stream of water that is about the size of a soda-straw or smaller, I get water that is comfortably warm... not hot.... but warm enough for comfortable hand washing. If I turn the tap open more than that, it gets colder and, from the water temperature, I wouldn't even know the In-line heater is there. If you're OK with a stream of moderately warm water the size of a soda-straw, you'll probably be OK with this device. I do think it's way overpriced for what it does. But since, in my house, it takes about 3-4 minutes to otherwise get hot water in that Guest Bath... and the In-line heater delivers it instantly (in enough volume for hand-washing), I'm going to keep it... Clean, warm hands instantly is still better than clean, cold hands. March 20, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Only slightly warms water if left at a trickle Basically this concept does not work. Need a tank or 220 to get enough power to heat enough to notice. A 110 unit just can't perform. It was hard to figure this out from the product info available. January 7, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by good quality construction...very poor performance. product is not capable of keeping up with the normal flow rate of the average home. the flow rate has to be turned down so low that it is of little value in everyday use....might be o.k. in an emergency situation where you were on generator power, or in an rv or similar situation. thumbs down on this item for everyday use. Rated 1 out of 5 by This is a worthless model of a good product I have used other Eemax products and found them to be good. Bought this low-end model for a very cost-conscious customer and installed it myself. It only raises the cold water temperature 10 degrees, which is barely noticeable. Had an electrician confirm my work and it was proper. He said cheaper units are pretty worthless, and he was correct. I would never do the same again. July 9, 2013
