While the fixture was attractive and used a CFL bulb, it did not work properly. Every 10 seconds or so, it kept blinking off for a fraction of a second. I even tried to cover up the photodetector to no avail. I plan to exchange the fixture for another to see if it works better.

The other reviewer's problem with dimming and flicker is not related to this particular product. Currently the majority of CFL's and photocells are not compatible.

I was very surprised at the amount of light that is given off from these lights. When I moved into this house 5 years ago I replaced the outdoor lights because I wanted ones with an open bottom. This makes it much easier for me to change the light bulbs. The ones that were here had to be taken apart from the top to get to the bulb. I am very short and do my own normal maintanance jobs. The new small coach lights worked well and were very reasonable. But as the bigger jobs have been taken care of at my house, I realized that I wanted dawn to dusk lights out on the patio so the lights wouldn't stay on 24/7. The patio is a walkway for anyone who lives in the lower level. I tried the dawn to dusk things that you screw in to the socket and then screw the bulb into that but they didn't work for me.The eves on my house are very deep and the sensor on the screw-in type wasn't strong enough to catch the light during the day. So I got these even though I thought they might need an additional dawn to dusk eye added to do the job. But not true. They started working immediately. I haven't had to replace the bulbs yet, but my handyman says that they won't be hard like some of the reviewers indicated. Also, people who drive by and see the back of my house from a major street have mentioned how nice they look. And the guy downstairs has also commented about how much more light they give off without being huge and inappropriate for the space. So I say,BUY, BUY, BUY! I love them!

Light is inexpensive and attractive but it is not part of collection so finding a post light was a challenge. Would have bought different fixture if I had known. Picked up in store and erroneously assumed that I would find matching post light.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jpjhawk Good Product
I was looking for a wall hugging type outdoor light and this fit the bill. The high efficiency lights are a bit different and they put of a purplish light that isn't exactly what I was looking for, but they are bright and look good so I'm happy.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by BOBby This product needs more quality control.
The first item is that one of the dusk to dawn sensors was screwed in crosswise. The second item is that one of the enclosed bulbs was DOA (dead on arrival). The bulb in the second unit lasted only two weeks. I've replaced both bulbs ($15 additional cost) and no problems since.

Rec'd product 3 times, twice damaged. Quality is fair to say at best, plastic frame was bent each time even though the shipping packaging was more than sufficient. All plastic, look nice from afar with modern lines however, a cheap product. Concerned that product will warp in sun.
