How do you cut this for smaller window sizes? ex.-36 inch window across (36 3/4") including exterior framing around window?

If you needed a size smaller than what we offer, we would recommend using a miter cut in the center of the product and using adhesive and caulking to smooth any seam. This would void any warranty.

the web sight does not give the depth dimension at the top of the moulding nor the width dimention. I need to know these as I'm replacing existing

The crosshead width is 45 at the 1" thick part and the 1st question above states this. I need to know how far the crown portion at the top extends out on both the sides and front. in other words the width of the crown portion at its farthest point from side to side and the depth at the farthest point at the top from front to back. PLEASE!!

Hi, thank you for showing interest in our products, we greatly appreciate it. I am happy to assist you with any product questions that you might have. This specific crown moulding is measured from the bottom and has a bottom width of 45". The overall width from the widest part at the top measures at 48 1/2" and is 6" in height. Also, once it is installed, it has a projection (how far it comes off the wall) of 1". This would be all of the dimensions that we have for this product.

Is the measurement from the outside top edges or from the base casing?

Looking at this piece, I'm wondering where the measurement is taken from. If I have casing coming up the side jamb, do I need to order a piece that is as wide as the door opening, plus the casing, and the base sits atop the side casing with the top extending out, or do I need to calculate how far out the decorative casing extends?

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We reached out to the MFG for more information. Below is their response. "Width dimensions are measured at the bottom. It is recommended for the width to be equal or wider than the trim/casing below it."
