We were unsure how this was going to work out for us with our installation situation but it exceeded my expectations. Here was our situation. Installed in basement of Walkout Ranch on Concrete subfloor using engineered bamboo hardwood. Make sure that you use a 6mil vapor barrier before you put down the Elastilon. Make sure you watch the video on youtube about how to install the product and you should have a pretty easy time installing it. In the end we loved how the project turned out.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Homeimprovgirl GLAD I BOUGHT THIS. THANKS REVIEWERS!
Like another reviewer said, this is worth every penny. I used this for laying solid strand woven bamboo flooring which is one of the hardest woods out there. It cuts like a dream with gold shear scissors or a utility knife. I prefer scissors but literally glides like cutting wrapping paper. Don't over think it just don't peel back the film until you have the board where you want it on top of the film. I took the extra step of glueing my tongues on the boards pushed them into place, then peeled back the film to the edge of the board and placed the next one on top. I will never use glues and trowels again. The sound deadening is great. Once in a while you may hear a little pop which sounds like popping bubble wrap when you walk on a board. I believe this is just air bubbles being released. The more you walk on it these will go away and it will stop after a month or two. I love that this is usually in stock at home depot so you don't have to wait for it either. This is the way to go for any glue down application. It saves you so many headaches its worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Richard Not cheap - and worth EVERY PENNY
Recently installed 1600 sq feet of strand-woven bamboo on a concrete subfloor in a high-rise. I was concerned at first about how easy the product would be to use, and how difficult installation would be given that I was installing the flooring on a bias.
After mucking about with the product for about 30 minutes, it was an absolute breeze. The product is unbelievably strong, and the adhesive is more than enough to bend slightly warped flooring into shape. I never had any gapping issues nor any shredding issues on the plastic covering. Since this was a DIY project, I didnt have the ability to finish the job in one sitting, and the Elastilon product made stopping and clean-up a breeze.
If I had any recommendation for the company, it would be to produce it in wider rolls, but the current size was easily managable. Compared to the cost of cork underlayment and floor glue (and all the tools i would destroy from the goop), i think the price is right in line.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Joyjk The product makes flooring installation so simple
Elastilon is a great product that makes installation of hardwood flooring simple and easy. I can't imagine ever doing another floor without it. My only complaint is for the cost it seem such a waste to have to cut off so much from the beginning of each strip to get extra three board width of plastic to start the first row. What a waste that was!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Bobby Great experience with this product. Fast and easy to install.
I did a little research on this product and was happy to hear that Home Depot was carrying it. The first time i heard about this product was at my brother-in-law's in California. He had installed 500 sq ft of bamboo with it and it looked great. He is not a real handyman but was able to do it himself with great results.
Being a professional installer myself, I was skeptical of the product but was willing to give it a chance (once). I have seen my share of new and improved ways of installing hardwood floors but nothing that would change my thinking until this Elastilon product came along.
I just completed two installations ( 5/8" Horz. Bamboo and 3/4" x 3 1/4 Plano March Solid Oak) directly over concrete and it was the fastest and easiest installation I have every done in my 15 years of installing floors. Loved it!
Here are a few tips i learned during the installs:
-Be careful when you first open the packaging as a knife can cut the white film and you do not want to do that.
-The Elastilon is super strong so make sure you rack up your floor nice and tight, two or three rows deep, before you pull out the film.
-you can use blue masking tape to keep boards in place as you pull out the film.
-If you have a chance watch the youtube video on Elastilon as it will help with understanding the whole process. Also, read through the Installation Guide which you can find on this site. It answers a lot of install questions before you install.
No mess, no smell and no wait time. It's an installers dream come true.
