Customer Questions & Answers

Is there a solar power supply that could power about 5 strands of these?

Asked by: Rob
You would need a solar panel array of at least 30W, 12V batteries (3 minimum) and an inverter, plus a transformer capable of powering five strands (probably 30 to 40W) and a timer or photo electric switch to activate the lights at dusk. So, yes, you could design a system that would power these lights, but it would more be practical to just buy solar lights.

If I need 90 ft can I use one transformer or do I need more than one?

Asked by: Clay
You will likely need a transformer with more power than the 15W unit that comes with this product. According to the manufacturer: "One transformer of 88 Watts will supply lighting power for up to 250 linear feet or 12 twenty foot (20') rolls." 90 feet would be five rolls,so I would figure on getting at least at 30W transformer, or using two transformers.

5 in. x 20 ft. Fiberglass Edging Without Transformer is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great light for the money Just prior to Christmas I installed the Electro Edge walkway lighting sysyem. Real easy to install right-out-of-the-box. The small profile LED lamps put a good deal of light on the path leading from my driveway to my door. The colored over-caps made for a nice Christmas touch. Green, red & blue colored overcaps what a great idea.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good and practical product the wiring is built into the edging product therefore eliminates running wire for each light. light bulb just pop in the holes and you just connect one end of the edging to your 12volt transformer and you are good to go. you can actually connect them all together(edging sections) and just run them off of one 12volt transformer(if you going to tie few of them together make sure you get the right size transformer). I just bought one set to see how it works. I'm going to order few more sets to complete my walk way and around my shrubs beds. I saw Home depot has another set including transformer with light sensor to turn it off in day light. looks good

Rated 5 out of 5 by from wonderful product I love the product, I replaced my malibu light with the electro edge this product enhances my landscaping so much better than the malibu lights. I will be ordering more for my patio and walkway to the pool. all the neighbors love it to but do not order stuff on line its a shame it is not in the stores.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light output, good-looking product! I was happy that the lights included in this product were so bright. I will eventually use this to replace all my other landscape lighting. It was easy to install, with clear instructions. The edging material looks good and appears very durable. Wish I had known about this earlier!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Ordered two sets for courtyard and then ordered three additional sets for flowerbeds. The lights are brighter than the usual low voltage type, but at least these won't crack, heads fall off and end up looking terrible. Neighbors like them too.
