Customer Reviews

Rated 1.0 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by speakers do not work! Shipped quickly and returned to a local Home Depot store witho problem. my teenage daughter was excited when she opened this as a gift for Christmas but neither speaker worked! December 29, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Two bought, two returned Well, the case is very nice, and the parts are all considerably sturdier than anything I've seen on Crosley products. But the platter on this (the second one we've ordered and returned in a week) seems to be mounted at a 20-degree angle to the deck, and so the platter rotates slower than 33RPM, and with a loud grinding noise. Also, the arm failed to work properly in conjunction with the platter. A record cannot be played on this. The first Archer DID play, and beautifully -- again, a huge step up over Crosley -- but the vinyl sheathing over the deck was so poorly cut around the components that it looked like someone had done it with a can opener. Seriously. It was like the bottom of the Hulk's pants. This was to be a Christmas gift for an 11-year-old who has a newfound love of vinyl. It's the only thing he asked for, as he's been collecting records throughout the year. It would've been great to give him a sturdy, good-sounding player, but we'll be giving him a Crosley that sounds like an ant whispering through an AM radio. But it plays at the right speed, it looks good, and it appears to work like a record player. That's more than I can say for the two Archer turntables I tried. I'm pretty disgusted, and if you knew me you'd know I hate posting reviews, good or bad. But more than that I'd hate for another parent or consumer to order one of these and be as disappointed as we were. Gah. M.D. December 9, 2013
