I believe this means you can exhaust it in a recirculating mode (no outside vent needed) or have a vent hose go out to an outside wall and then vent it so that the exhaust goes outdoors and doesn't stay in the kitchen. A convertible exhaust means that if you do not have an outside vent, you can convert the exhaust to vent out the front or the back of the microwave. Just be sure to follow the instructions to be sure that the vent setting is correct before you attach the microwave.

How does one use the convection part of this microwave?

I bought this and there are NO instructions in the owner's manual on how to use the convection mode. Do you take out both the glass and plastic turntable or leave them in? Can you use the round metal shelves with convection or the rectangular shelf? How to do set the temp and time? Any info. greatly apprreciated as Electrolux was no help as they didn't know either. They need to rewrite their manual in my opinion and give some examples of convection cooking. After all, isn't this one of the major features?
Please post here with any information on how to cook convection. Thanks!

You should be able to go to the Electrolux / Frigidare website and print off a copy of owners manual. The circular racks can and should be used during convection cooking but not during the microwave cooking. Not required but I recommend removing the glass tray and turntable. Convection temp and time set using the scroll feature.

Hi, thank you for your inquiry. When using the convection feature on microwave model EI30BM60MS please note that the microwave and convection feature do not function at the same time but alternate. The low wire rack and the high wire rack are especially designed for the use during the convection feature, but please note it should not be used within the Microwave cooking feature. The glass turntable can stay in the cavity as well as the plastic turntable tray. They have been designed to be used on convection mode as well. You can turn off the turntable by pressing “turntable on-off” key once. You may then turn it on by pressing it twice. When turning the turntable off you may use it as a small “oven” and place rectangular trays in it. Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 223 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad quality Based on my experience – the quality of Electrolux microwave is basically a piece of junk. I bought mine 3 years ago (model EI30BM55HSC) and already had to fix the door handle twice. The door handle end cap made out of plastic and breaks easily (and no, we do not abuse our appliances). I had to purchase the end cap and paid $30 each time. I will never purchase another thing made by Electrolux. May 31, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by do not waste your money on this model looks great. interior is very nice and shiny. Microwave works as well as any other microwave. home depot installed this unit. When i went to register it, i found it was manufactured 2 years ago - so it's been sitting on a shelf somewhere. (which may contribute to the issues). The convection oven feature does not work. Electrolux tech found some kind of bad assembly and is trying to replace it, but his comments are 'these convection ovens never work. people just use it for the microwave'. this is a very expensive 'just microwave'. The convection feature doesn't actually work, but just discolors the interior. (see pic) shame as the shiny interior was the best part. Should have gone with regular over the range microwave. March 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Has all the options This microwave has performed great. Installation was a bit tricky as the templates are not accurate, but after that was discovered, and corrected, things went very smooth. Between the microwave functions, convection functions and combo, there literally isn't anything you can't make in this unit. August 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I like it This is a great microwave oven! I love all the features. I'm still trying to learn/ remember them all. August 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to Use I love this new microwave - so easy to use. Great features, too. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product I have had this product for 2 plus months and I am very satisfied, the controls are much easier to get used to than my last unit and cooks faster. August 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Stylish look This Microwave came with the home that I purchased. I'm quite happy with the unit, though there is one downfall and that is when it is mounted over a cooktop, the handle gets extremely hot though the fan is on. The unit was actually replaced July 21, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Beware plastic door handle! I have had this less than two years and the unit operates well but the door handle has broken off twice. The problem is that the part of the handle the screws go into from the door are cheap plastic, and the screws are too short. The dealt fixed it once and theseocnd time provided a replacement handle but no good instructions, which are also not available from the Electrous website. Unfortunately, the construction is different from most microwaves, on which replacing a handle is no big deal. July 2, 2016
