We came to own an Electrolux refrigerator (model EI23BC56IS8) that conveyed with our new home in March 2014. Per the sticker in the unit, it was manufactured in June 2011 (less than five years ago).
For the second time in two years, it stopped making ice. This time the technician slid the unit out to get access to the control board which revealed what you see in the attached picture. Yes, among the giant rust spot, is a chunk of ice. Doing a little research online, Electrolux refrigerators are subject to failures in the coolant line or insulation that can result in what we experienced - basically a hole. Since we came to own this fine piece of refrigeration through the purchase of our home (i.e., it was "transferred" to us), Electrolux is choosing not to stand behind its product to do anything about it.
There are so much better refrigerators out there, please do not buy an Electrolux.

I had this refrigerator installed in my new home last Oct. and love it. It's so quiet you don't know it's running except when the ice maker is filling. There is plenty of room and looks great. I would highly recommend this appliance, you can't go wrong.

I like this refrigerator a lot, except for the loud fan noise. The refrigerator compartment is roomy and the french doors are not heavy and open easily. The counter-depth style works great in my kitchen across from the center island.
I called for warranty service because of the loud humming/rattling noise and the repairman told me the freezer fan and freezer drawer tracks need to be replaced. If this fixes the noise problem I will be very happy with this purchase.
A minor inconvenience is that the ice maker does not shut off automatically when the ice tray is full like my previous refrigerator. Ice overflows the bin and ends up on the kitchen floor when the freezer drawer is opened.

purchased on 7/12/15 for delivery on 7/23/15.
Service Call #1: It stopped working the first week it was installed. Temperature would not stay below 50 degrees even though it was set for 35 (we bought a thermometer to test and verify). After they had service person fix it the unit broke down again in less than two week.
Service Call #2: Again just two weeks after being fixed the first time it broke again. They came to fix it for the second time and it was working for another three weeks then same problem. The ice was melting and the temperature slowly would rise day by day. After coming to fix it this time the unit was getting cold again but using out thermometer was flucutating from 5 to 10 degrees higher than what it was set to on the DIGITAL read out. We figured we would just live with it since 43 - 45 degrees would be acceptable to us. After another few weeks the temp started rising again! As of the writing of this review the tempterature inside the refrigerator is almost 70 degrees! SEE IMAGE I HAVE ATTACHED.
Service Call #3: On 10/1/15 the technician came out again. They indicated it can be fixed but the problem will likely happen again. I wish I knew the technical explanation for what is going wrong but it is hands down not working.
I tried to give Electrolux a shot. Had never had one of their appliances. STAY AWAY FROM THESE REFRIGERATORS. This has been the worst experience ever. Note the policy for refund/return is that it must be serviced three times before you can claim it's a "lemon" and get credit for a new model. I am hoping the manufacturer issues us a check so we can replace with another brand.
Note - the image of the thermometer was taken within 10 seconds of opening the door after it had been closed for over 10 hours and plugged in the whole time. This is the actual temperature inside the refrigerator. 70 degrees!!

We have had problems since day 1 with this fridge. Had to return initially as it was scratched and doors uneven. Then from then on the freezer drawer we had multiple problems with it closing. From not closing to be being very clunkly. We had a service man every mth for over a year come fix and look at it. We delt with where we bought it and also delt with electrolux directly. Spent many hours on hold on the phone and taking time off work to be there when the repairman game. We multiple parts replaced. Finally they gave us a new fridge...the next week the bottom of the freezer was full of ice and we could not even open the door. We did get a store credit and are now getting a Samsung RF28HMEDBSR...praying we will not have any problems!

I purchased this refrigerator in black. It has the smooth finish and it shows every finger print. It needs to be wiped three times a day. So disappointed in that. The refrigerator part is great and roomy. The freezer is loud when you open it and it''s tough to find anything in it. Just beware if you buy the black it shows everything !

Had this unit installed in January 2015. In the last two months we've had two service visits and are about to have a third, because the unit does not maintain temperature or perform its basic function: to refrigerate. After each service visit the fridge maintained 40F as expected for awhile, but then a few weeks later fails again with no notice. It's currently holding steady at 60F which is absolutely ridiculous. Each time this happens Electrolux will schedule a service call per their warranty but they come out two to three days later and at that point, we are already inconvenienced, having to scramble to get our food over to a neighbors house or just throw out the spoiled food. Since this is the third time in the last two months this has happened we actually bought another fridge yesterday (NOT ELECTROLUX) to put in the garage as a backup. Who knows when Electrolux will be actually able to fix this issue. This is absolutely ridiculous. Warning to others: Do not buy this model. I am really disappointed, a brand new fridge should not have these issues.

We bought this refrigerator about 6 months ago and it is the best decision we have made in a long time. We had a glitch with the ice machine, called the warranty company and boom.... taken care of in record time... replaced the ice machine. The refrigerator is quiet, the veggie drawer actually keeps the veggies fresh as does the fruit drawer! It just is great.
