So I want to buy this... But I saw the floor model at a local Home Depot and felt the knobs... They felt like they were screwed on too tight or something. It felt like metal turning on metal sort of... Is it me? Was it the floor models problem? If anyone has any thoughts on this pls let me know. I would hate to get a range and not like the feel of the knobs...

Answer:
This model, EI30GF35JS, has stainless knobs that are installed on a form of peg-like "shaft" that allows them to turn for operation. Since this model is a gas version you will notice the knobs require more effort to turn as a safety feature. Thank you for your question!

Answer:
You need to push the knobs in to turn, its a safety feature to prevent you from accidentally turning on the gas. Push the knob in, Turn counter clockwise - it should be smooth and fluid. If not I would have to say that someone has abused the machine on the floor.

Answer:
No, just stainless steel with the black top. If you want this oven in white, the Frigidaire Gallery Model FGGF3054MW is the next closest thing. It is built on the same chassis and has almost identical specs and is less expensive.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 68 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Electrolux gas range The unit is looking good, all functions are easy to use. I like the most the oven rack can pull out and push very easy. Notices when buy branch new unit carefully check especially oven make sure there no defect of the paint inside the oven. Otherwise the unit look and work very good. October 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stove Great stove. The bottom storage drawer is really small. July 29, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great range if you get it on sale I bought this because it had a great sale price and most of the features I wanted. I am very happy with the purchase so far as I have had for only about a month. I was between this model and the entry level GE profile. I really wanted the Profile, but the strong sale price and similarities of features on this swayed me to the Electrolux. So, what's to like? 5 burners, cast iron grates, decent looks. Electrolux owns Fridgaire and these are made in the US. Fit and finish are not at automotive levels but area acceptable at the lower mid level price point. The fast boil burner pumps out 18K of BTU's and is fantastic for boiling water quickly, producing high heat for searing meats and reducing sauces, it just makes certain tasks faster and more enjoyable considering my previous range only had a 10K BTU burner. The gas control knobs are actually made of metal, which is rare at this price point and you have to push and turn to ignite the burners. Keep in mind using the oven for an extended period of time the burners will get hot to the touch. The center 10K BTU burner is great if you have a griddle for pancakes or an oval dutch oven. The range does not come with a cast iron griddle, that is quite a bit extra, but you can get a better one for less by buying a Lodge griddle. The front left 9.5K BTU burner performs fine. The 5K BTU right rear burner does an admiral job, but might not be low enough to melt chocolate. The grates: First they are cast iron, season them like you would any cast iron cookware and you will have a mostly non stick surface thats easy to clean and will always look great. No matter what range you buy, I would recommend cast iron continuous grates, the ease of use and the fact porcelain enamel will look terrible in a few years is reason enough. The back rear left burner is a 12K BTU burner - I would caution anyone using a tall pot - that black plastic of touch panel extends to this area. If you are a tall pot on high, then I can see that you could easily melt the panel if a handle touches it. The oven: First it is a convection oven where the fan has a 200 watt heating element (most in this price class are just a fan). It has a nice cobalt blue interior and self clean performs very well for a gas oven. You do need to remove the racks during self clean, I imagine this is more important for the luxury glide rack too. I just use a bit of Bar Keepers Friend to clean in sink - The GE profile - allows you to self clean with the racks in the oven. The racks themselves seem a bit flimsy under the heavy weight of a cast iron dutch oven , although the luxury glide rack is a great feature. Just pull that rack out slowly or you could see a tray of cookies fly across the room. As far as oven performance, my feelings are still a bit mixed. I did cook a 26 pound Turkey perfectly on Thanksgiving on Convection Roast in less than 4 hours per Cook's Illustrated instructions. But I don't think that its a constant performer in temps based on my own oven thermometer and the performance of my previous oven. Also the fast preheat never seems to be at the proper temp when I check the thermometer. I did cook six pans of cornbread and the left rear seems a bit hot based on the browning (FIY you don't use convection when baking breads & cakes but cookie are OK). The regular preheat seems to do a better job. If I was a serious baker this might give me some pause. The oven glass is cool to the touch when the oven is on too. The Broiler, yes it does come with a broiler pan in the cobalt blue of the oven interior. I have only used it to brown cheese on chicken parmesan. As majority of gas ovens your expectations for the broiler should be low, although it kicks out 13.5K BTUs' which is far batter than I had before. The bottom drawer is sturdy enough and has a nice handle. All in all this is a decent little package even if its not perfect. I don't regret the purchase in anyway. If It wasn't on sale, I would have spent a few hundred more on the GE, but when the Electrolux is on sale and GE Profile isn't-- then its a no brainer to go with the Electrolux. December 10, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by After 13 months Needs repair again Purchased in August of 2014; after 6 months or so the high BTU front burner would not light. It was repaired under warranty so that was OK. Now in the 13th month we are only covered for parts and the same burner that was fixed will not light; looking at $150 or so for labor for another repair. Cannot recommend this range. Electrolux call center is torture to get through; they suggested I buy a two year warranty to cover parts and labor for $277.00 and said it was a good deal. I suppose it would be if one assumed you would need more repairs. If the product was good you would not need repairs at all. August 20, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Beware!! I had this stove for 16 months and the entire oven control panel went dead. I was told it is not covered under warranty even though a three year warranty is advertised. The part is almost impossible to find because this is a model made just for Home Depot. I have ordered a part I hope will work. In the meantime I have an almost new, very expensive appliance that is unusable. Don't buy this product! November 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Electrolux Gets Two Thumbs Up! I purchased my two appliances, a dishwasher and a gas range, at the end of December and have not looked back. Not only are the appliances beautiful, they are very well designed. The dishwasher is so quiet, I have to put my ear to the door to hear it. The gas range has very interesting sounds like it is speaking to me which makes it very user friendly. The stainless steel is very easy to keep clean with a towelette and a microfiber cloth to remove the excessive cleaning fluid from the towelette. The interior of the range has a beautiful cobalt color. Well done Electrolux! You get two thumbs up from me. February 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Electrolux EI30GP Review we purchased this stove in January 2015 and have been using it for a full year now. We are very pleased with our purchase. The burners have never failed to light. The oven temp controls are steady and reliable, always deliver the exact temperature settings. And very, very easy to clean. with the black enamel finish, as opposed to the stainless finish around the burners on the top of the stove. We found the stainless finishes at our friend's house to be very hard to clean, based on their input. We plan on buying another for our vacation properties. February 3, 2016
