After spending months reading reviews on different dryers, I ended up choosing this Electrolux as my number one choice. It has turned out to be a great choice!
The dryer works quietly and efficiently. Normal dry time is approximately 42 minutes and gets the clothes pretty close to bone dry. (There is also an option to change the dryness levels if you prefer it to be bone dry). My old dryer used to take us over 2 hours to achieve the same dryness level, as the first 70 minute cycle would still leave the clothes wet or damp. I was actually impressed as to how quiet the dryer operates, as compared to our old dryer.
There are plenty of different cycles to choose from, as well as available steam for certain cycles. This is extremely handy for pet beds, as we have 3 small dogs!
I have this in the titanium color, and it looks great! The cycles are also easy to navigate. All in all, I am more than impressed with this dryer!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PoconoZee913 Old love for Home Depot, Newfound love for Electrolux
I finally saved up enough and purchased this dryer in-store today!! Needless to say I am beyond excited(now I won't have to go down to the basement to hang my clothes on the line). I've had the washer since December of 2013 and it is fantastic. I've been watching the price of this item and it was finally where I want it, and when I went to the store today the lovely sales associate offered me an addition 10% discount off of the sale price! She was so informed and answered every one of my questions.
(There is actually a Lowe's which is much closer to my home but I drive past it just for the service at the Home Depot.)
My total came out to a little under $1000 with tax; including the power cord, dryer duct(purchased separately, not included in price of appliance) and a 3 year warranty. Free delivery and set-up. Should arrive by this Friday.
My favorite features of this product pair:
Interior light (it's practical, and I like to watch my clothes get clean)
Fast wash/fast dry ~30min total (I'm a procrastinator and so I sometimes use this cycle before work in the morning)
High capacity (fits my king sized comforter plus bedding in one load. Oh and I have a family of six...)
Simplicity of the buttons (the selector knob even retracts when pushed in so it's almost flush)
Color/looks (love the enameled gray)
"Touch-2-Open" door (literally touch to open and close, rather than pulling on the door)
It's actually fun to use
Enameled surface is susceptible to scratching
Door can't prop open
Dispenser drawer feels cheap
The big contender when I was deciding what pair to get was the LG 4.0 capacity washer/7.3 capacity dryer. My neighbor has it and is always raving about it, and it has fantastic reviews. Before I purchased I used hers a few times - I liked it, but I didn't love it. The control panel is too fussy/busy. The graphite steel color was nice, but the dark titanium of Electrolux stood out. There's no short cycle. No interior light which I thought was a silly feature but really makes a difference. Smaller capacity which means more loads.
It does, however, offer a 10 year warranty on the motor. And in the long run the material of the exterior might hold up better as it is not enameled.
The BIG deciding factor - Electrolux offers something they call the "Second Floor Guarantee" which ensures these appliances will work quietly and with minimal vibration. Should they happen to vibrate too much, Electrolux will send a technician to adjust the balance of the machine and possibly refund the purchase price. Unfortunately, it seems this offer was only on purchases made before Dec 31st, 2013 so it would not apply to my new dryer. But the washing machine operates with barely any noise, relative to being on the second floor, so it should be fine.
To sum it up, I love this pair and it serves my family and me well. It seems the performance should hold up for many years to come. I would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone who is in the market for a high quality and good looking machine.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by danielsfo Great quality top of the line dryer
I have owned this electric dryer for about a month and I love it. it's very well designed and built machine. It has lot's of options, including steam. The dryer is directly connected to water supply, so there is no need to manually fill the water tank before using steam, unlike some other brands.
The display of the dryer not only shows you what program you are running, but also shows remaining time until the clothes is dry, which is my favorite feature.
There are two issues I have with this dryer:
- the door sometimes requires to be pushed in more than once before it closes
- all the programs have preset dryer temperature and cannot be altered. I like to dry all my clothes on low temperature and the only way to do it is to select "delicate" cycle for the automatic moisture sensor dry or to run timed dry.

Doesn't dry completely. Sometimes still not dry even after 2 cycles. Heating coil fails. Repairs are costly. Electrolux Repair man removed drum and didn't put it back correctly and they won't come back to fix it without me paying AGAIN. Very disappointed and irritated!

I have finally moved up in the washer and dryer world! I have gone from the old top loaders to the new front loaders...what a nice difference! So much easier on my back! I did alot of research before purchasing this dryer, it has a lot of good reviews. I was able to purchase while it was on sale which made it an even better buy. It runs quiet, has different selections so you can be more in control...I suggest watching the free DVD that you can send for once you buy, it gives some great tips. I am so happy with it and so glad I did my research!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by CThomas Electrolux Dryer Chronic Problems
This dryer seems wonderful when you purchase it. However, over time you will wish you never purchased it. The heating coil (problem code E64) is a chronic problem with this dryer. I had my coil replaced twice . Once after 3 years of use, and 9 months following the full replacement. In addition, I had the thermal cutoff and high limit controller replaced. At the price Electrolux charges, it is a horrible value. The repair technicians said that today's dryers are built cheaper and will last 7-8 years. They told me Electrolux is one of the quickest to go bad and that all manufacturers are built with similar parts and the price tag is based on the electric panel with their features and electronics. I sure wish one of these upper lines built appliances without cheap plastic parts and built to last 15+ years. If that happened, I would pay twice the amount. Not sure at this point what to recommend, but from experience, stay away from Electrolux. I never purchase extended warranty plans, but with today's large appliances, I think my next purchase will include one of these plans.
