Customer Questions & Answers

is there a problem with the cooking control panel?

I read àbout the elect. control panel being a problem, shorting out or shutting off. has this been fixed or something to be concerned about? Already ordered one and scared that I will have a problem after the one year warranty is up.

can you use cast iron( Le Creuset) on this cook top?

Asked by: Linda
Hi Linda, that is a very good question. Cast iron is not recommended for use on ceramic cooktops because it is a poor heat conductor. Within our Use and Care manual on page 18, there is a section dedicated to what is recommended for the use on a ceramic cook-top to avoid damage. We hope this information proves to be of assistance, we are also welcome to receiving any concerns or question you may have via this website’s Q&A forum. -Best regards-

Customer Reviews

Wave-Touch 4.2 cu. ft. Slide-In Double Oven Electric Range with Convection Oven in Stainless Steel-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 83.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from New Stove with great features I bought a new glass top stove & initially concerned about clean up & scratching. So far No problems. Although I did not have the cream that was supposed to come with the stove to coat it from damages. Foods cook really fast & baked foods turn out really nice!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked fine for 9 months Worked fine for 9 months until we used the self cleaning option. Undocumented error codes rendered the range unusable 4 times, twice turning off the breaker reset the unit but the other two times we had to call service (which usually takes a week or two to schedule an appointment, order parts, have parts delivered and schedule a second appointment to have parts installed). No fun with a family with kids. We were told not to use the self cleaning option and don't cook at high temps for a long time. The range takes 30 minutes to warm up to 400F in convection bake, so we stopped preheating and just add some more minutes to the cooking time. The top is picky about any liquid on the controls, starts beeping if it happens and/or stops working at all with an undocumented error code until breaker is pulled. Now we are out of warranty, not using the self cleaning option and when it breaks again I will get a new range that works - probably not from Electrolux

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Built in Range review We are very happy with our new range. We use the convection baking quite a bit and it works great, we have also used the bread rising feature, and on occasion, take advantage of using the second oven. The cooktop tends to get very dirty, and really needs to be cleaned nightly. I wish it did not show the fingerprints quite so much, but it is black, and black shows the least little thing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice range but does have a serious technical issue I have owned this range for approximately 2 years. I love the range, cooks well, has some very nice features and looks great. However, if you set the self cleaning cycle to anything higher than "lite" (it has a medium and heavy setting), the oven will fault and the thermostat will have to be replaced. At least this is my experience. It has happened twice. I wrote to Electrolux customer service and received this reply, "unable to locate any known issues with your model and serial range" , this despite reviews that say otherwise. It is unacceptable to me for a range to "fault" when using a provided feature! I recommend that Electrolux review this model carefully and provide a fix for the problem. Thank goodness, I bought a five year extended warranty!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Close, but some glaring flaws. I've had my built in range for about 9 months and it looks great, but I miss a visible clock. This one is only visible if you are standing over it. It's beautifully sleek, but the tacky rubber gasket/edging around the cook top and the control panel catches dust and crumbs (and yuck, dog hair) and is a PAIN to clean and keep clean, Why not just make a solid glass surface with no metal rim and no sticky rubber gasket? My biggest gripe is that when I turn on a burner, the fan between the oven door and the cook top blows cold air on my legs..not fun in an Ohio winter, even the mild one we just had! Electrolux, please tell me how to turn this off!! Why does the fan need to come on with the cook top, anyway? My only solution is to put on an oil cloth apron to deflect the cold air. As far as the baking options, it all works like an expensive convection range should work, it's just some ill conceived design details that don't stick out at you until you are using it. I'm sorry I only had the "Yes, it's amazing" or "Probably Not" options for recommending it. It works well, but it needs some changes. I'm not sure I can ever LOVE it the way it is. So if I recommend it, it will be on the condition the design "flaws" are corrected in future models.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Range review I love my Electrolux built in range. I have used the dehydrator to make jerked beef. I love the bread proofer since getting dough to rise at 7000ft is very difficult. The flexible burner size is great and having a 5th burner on the range is fabulous when having a party

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Thermostat burns out third or forth thermostat burnout. Usually go's out after self cleaning mode, it gets too hot and burns it out
