what color is this hose? We now have a black hose and it leaves ugly black streaks when we drag it around our pool. Would this hose do the same?

dark brown with a yellow stripe down it. It hasn't left marks on my concrete driveway. It is a soft hose, so I wouldn't think it would leave marks on wood either.

Yes, it is black and it is rubber, so not a good choice for dragging across sand textured cement. The hose will wear quickly and there will be unsightly streaks.

This is a black hose with a yellow stripe, so I can tell i from the garden snakes. I suggest you contact Swan they were very helpful with me on technical issues. Plus, if you have a chemical treatment in your pool they should be told because that could be causing the hose color to break down.

You must have a rubber type hose, this one is a dark color with a yellow line down it. It's reinforced and made of a material and should not mark surfaces. I've been using one for over a year with a problem of this type.

It is near black with a yellowish stripe to it. I don't drag mine over concrete, so I can't say for sure, but I would think one that leaves a black streak would be some sort of rubber based hose. I tend to think this one WOULDN'T do that, but perhaps if you wanted to know for sure, you could contact SWAN (Manufacturer) at www.swanhose.com, or call 1-800-848-8707 and ask about the Swan ELEMENT Read More

Yes, my wife uses it all the time. The long 100' length is easier to drag out and put back up with two people so one person can wind/unwind to prevent kinking.

I think it is! I'm a woman and yes, it's a lot of hose but I drag it in sections to where I need it. Rolling it up when you are done is a good arm workout! It weighs less that 13 pounds.

If it's without water, it's light. I would say this is lighter than a heavy duty rubber hose. It's very smooth soft plastic body, it glides easy, if you are dragging it. If you are carrying it, well, I guess it depends how much you can carry. I suspect, you will be pulling or winding it. I think it's very manageable.

IndustrialPRO 5/8 in. Dia x 100 ft. Lead Free Garden Hose is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 142.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty Hose This is a heavy duty hose that appears well constructed and should stand up to use and abuse. I'm using mine for pool deck maintenance. It doesn't kink like a standard use hose. This hose doesn't have that "hose odor" that most water hoses have... I drank water from mine and it tasted just fine. Appears to be a great hose and I definitely recommend it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect length and does not kink With the size of our front lawn, we needed a 100 foot hose to reach to the front walkway. The hose has the length and durability to both reach that far, and it does not kink anywhere, including at the tap.. The hose is very high quality, and built to last. The packaging says it will perform at 500 psi if needed. The hose couplings are lead free, so can supply drinking water if needed. The packaging does recommend to empty the hose after use to prevent bacteria formation if used for drinking water in the yard. The hose material is very tough and sturdy. I like the size and the strength of this product. It does coil easily on my hose hook for storage.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good quality but not Commercial grade This is a decent quality hose, however it is definitely not a commercial grade hose. The hose will kinks up fairly easy. The flexible hose guard is a nice feature that prevents damaging the spigot. The hose is light weight when compared to other hoses that I have owned in the past. This is always a plus for a 100 feet hose. The hose is labeled as lead free, which is a nice feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reinforced connectors good weight and length Great size, weight, and design for my suburban fifth of an acre backyard. I need the diameter and length for good water pressure and volume. This hose features reinforced connectors on both ends and is lead free in its construction which is a consideration for the grandchildren. We have not considered whether our garden hoses have lead in them but now we will purchase only those labeled lead free.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible kinking hose I bought this hose (three days ago) because it was labelled "commercial grade." But it is not a good hose. It is the worse hose for kinking I have ever experienced. Absolutely the worst. Do not buy this hose unless you are never going to move it; otherwise you will be forever unkinking it. I will be returning this ASAP.
Date published: 2016-07-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Better Hose! This hose is advertised as “Commercial Grade, ideal for the Contractor and Serious Do-it-Yourselfer!” With 5+ acres to maintain, we qualify. This hose is more expensive but with higher quality and a better design compared to competition. If it came in a 120' length, we'd like it even better. The hose is a nice shiny brown color, advertised as a “Greener Way To Water” because of lead-free metal ends and drinking-water safety. “Hose Armour” refers to the cleverly designed plastic relief springs that prevent kinking at the spigot and nozzle ends. Best of all, the big 1-1/2” oversized metal female coupling is easy to grab and twist. The manufacturer recommends initially laying the hose out in warm weather to condition/straighten. It's a good idea to avoid the "kinks" that some reviewers report. Sun does degrade plastic, so it’s best to wind and protect when not in use. My snake- fearing husband, always screws the ends together to discourage creepy crawlies and slithering things from taking refuge and being the first thing out when he turns on the faucet!
Date published: 2016-07-30
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Water Hose This is a good water hose. Not the best, far from the worst. Lead Free Hose and Fittings. Drinking Water Safe. 500 psi burst. Kink Resistant. Made in the USA!!! 100' I like this hose. Like many I have been using a hose that is just a little to short for everything. With this 100' I am covered. So much less of a hassle watering plants, washing cars, and water dishes for the animals. The fittings are nice and large making it easy to attach them and remove them. The fittings are also not restrictive to the water flow. Many fittings are smaller than the hose itself, these are not. The fittings also have the rubber rings to make sure you don't have any drips. This is a kink resistant hose. It does still kink from time to time. You would be hard pressed to find a 100' hose that does not kink at all. Lower water pressure will also allow more kinks. Maybe if i straightened out the hose rather than just dragging it across the yard, I might not get kinks. I am pleased with this. I can connect to the faucet on the side of the house and get my front and back yard.
