I am thinking of using these for a porch swing. Can I bend those inside flanges flat, and then place a 4x6 or 6x6 between them and bolt it together?

Why is first Q. I wouldn't advise modifying them. The 1000Lbs. rating is with 4X4, what is the need for 4x6 of even the 6X6 for a porch swing? Suggest contacting mfg. for further help. Good luck on the swing project.

Answer:
think you may mess with the structural integrity of the welds by blacksmith-ing them straight. Another method you could think of is using a table or skill saw and cut a slit or dado for the up part of the flange to slide into.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product Simple to use and worked great with a 2x6 frame and 14' long 4x4's. Very sturdy once the cross members went in. October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great deal. Awesome deal you can't find it any cheaper....... Top of the line product same as outdoor stores September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product Easy to use. Great for hunting blinds and home projects. September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hunt Club stands Easy to use, makes the assembly and construction of both free standing tower stands and ladder stands easier, and in the end much safer than stick built stands. Be sure to anchor- (over anchor) you stands, if exposed to direct winds. September 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very rugged I am pleased with the quality of this product, the only downside is the pocket is slightly larger than a store bought 4X4 so a couple of shims are required for rack pocket. September 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Worked well, provided a nice base for elevated hunting blind.... Nice bracket that saved an enormous amount of time and effort in elevating my platform. I only gave it 4 stars, as I thought the bracket would be a little more stout and I was a little displeased with the play when installing a 4x4 post. I'm sure hardware is adequate for the 1000 lb load rating, I just personally was expecting something beefier. As for the play in the 4x4 receiver, it made it much more difficult to install the legs and bolts as the 4x4 needed to be held while screwing in. Made the process a little uncomfortable until all of the cross bracing was installed. October 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Double Angle Brackets Easy to assemble, probably will want a couple more carriage bolts than advertised on the outside of the box August 30, 2016
