Rated 5 out of 5Â by MMSH Nice compact sink/faucet combo
Nice simple sink, quality was good, and the faucet was just right. Installation is pretty basic.
I would give one word of advice. I installed this sink in the bathroom because we have a very narrow vanity space. The sink is just right. But be aware that a "sink" by code has to have a 1.5" drain, where as a bathroom "vanity" by code only needs 1.25" drain. Not knowing this I had to make some adjustments with my drain system for this sink to become my vanity.

While I did have to cut the bar to accommodate this sink, it is the perfect size for my bar!!!

The 1st Home Depot I went to had 4 of these Elkay sink/faucet sets in stock for $99, a great deal I thought. I took one home to find out that it had been previously installed! It still had putty on various parts, scratches and dents! I took it back, got my money back and checked the other 3 items in stock. They also had been opened and used! I should have taken a clue from this, but I went to a different Home Depot. This store had 3. I checked before I bought and it hadn't been opened, so I brought it home. I cut the counter to fit the sink, and installed it and the faucet. No problems, easy in fact. Then I turned on the water. It leaked badly, from both the hot and cold sides. I checked my connections and they were good. So I disassembled the faucet from the sink, hooked it up to my compressor at 20 psi and put it in a water bath. It looked like the bubbler in my daughters fish tank. The bubbles were coming from both hot and cold cartridges, twice as much from the hot side. I swapped the cartridges, springs and rubber cups, and the bubbles were still twice as much from the hot side. That suggested to me that the problem was in the body. At this point I called the Elkay phone number. They offered to send me replacement cartridges, springs and rubber cups. They also suggested taking just the faucet back to the store for exchange. Since I presumed the problem was in the body, I returned just the faucet and they graciously exchanged the faucet with one of the other unopened sets. I got this faucet home and hooked it up to the compressor, again at only 20 psi. Again it leaked badly. Now that it appears that Elkay has a defective product, I went to Lowes and bought a $49 faucet that easily passed my compressor test, installed flawlessly and works without any leaks. The lesson learned here is that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
