This is a great big sink for your smaller kitchen. We love the generous size of this sink, the perfect drain feature and slim rim edge. Elkay advertises this as the largest sink that will fit into a 30", and it sure is a tight fit, so measure carefully!
Elkay also designed this sink with a flange to attach Insinkerator disposers, but I had a Waste King disposer that uses a different flange for its EZ Mount system. Luckily, Waste King has an adapter (#3101) to make it work with Insinkerator flanges, so that worked out perfectly.
Overall, it's awesome to have a sink this size and quality in a smaller kitchen. I wish the sound-deadening undercoating was a little thicker, but the sink is not at all too loud. It is loud with the disposer on, but I think most stainless sinks are this way. Also, some of the undercoating had to be scraped off in order to the disposer mount to sit flush against the bottom of the drain, but that was an easy fix.
If you order this sink, make sure your local store has it in stock too because I ended returning my original one. It was missing parts and covered in dust, but the store's Customer Service helped me with the exchange.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Anythingbutbeige Beautiful but rust spot problem!
Was searching high and low for a larger sink that would fit a 30" cabinet. Very pleased to find this nice-looking dual mount sink & had installed undermount beneath nice granite countertops for kitchen remodel. Rust spots began to appear almost immediately and begin to bloom again as soon as they are removed even when sink dry and not in use. Such a shame because granite is cut for this odd size sink and there are no alternaitives. Will approach manufacturer but not sure what solution will address this without me incurring major expense.

Bought this sink in January of this year for our utility room.. Installed it in February and we have been fighting water spots ever since. Contacted the manufacture and complained about it. Was told that since it is a new sink, the grain lines are more visible, making the minerals in the water stick to the surface of the sink. Scrubbing it weekly with a Scotch Brite pad, Ajax, Bar Keepers friend will remove the spots and allow the water to flow off the sink.
After reading the care and maintenance of the sink, it says to towel dry after each use. Nothing was printed on the outside of the box it came in. If something was printed on the outside of the box stating it must be wiped out after each use, it would still be sitting in the store. Would never had bought it. Who in their right mind would make a sink that you have to wipe out after using it!!

Rated 2 out of 5Â by JohnG34 Sink Ok, parts, instructions another story
Just went to install this sink.
1) The instructions that came with it are incomplete for the under mounting type of installation. Going to the web-site gets you a set of instructions that is newer, and complete. I should not have to go to the web-site for installation instructions.
2) THERE IS NO TEMPLATE IN THE BOX, OR ON THE BOX. Again, going to the web-site will get you an AutoCAD file, .dxf. How many people do you know have AutoCAD at home? MAKE A .PDF ELKAY!!!!!
3) There are no mounting clips included for the under mount installation. The instructions from the web-site list "mounting brackets (LKUMB8), not included" The sink comes with over mount brackets. For ~ $230, and it's and it's touted as a "Dual Mount", the brackets for BOTH types of mounts should be included.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by James Love this sink, it is now one of the best features of my kitchen.
My 30" cabinet had a 25" Kohler cast iron sink that I couldn't even lay a skillet flat on the bottom of. I put up with that sink for years, because I couldn't find a utilitarian alternative. I considered cutting into the neighboring cabinets and installing a full size 33" sink. Finally a leak in my garbage disposal forced me to start shopping. That was when I found this sink. Now I can lay my largest baking pans in the bottom with room to spare. I needed to replace my garbage disposal anyway, so I bought the Insinkerator that clamps right onto the welded-in drain flange. The seamless garbage disposal flange not only looks very sleek, but I never have to deal with cleaning crud from around the flange. The very thin rim gives this a very clean look when top mounted, but I can also undermount this when I finally replace my countertops. I did have to cut my opening larger and it is a tight fit, but worth every second that i spent installing it. My one complaint, is that it is only available in a four hole configuration. I would have preferred a single hole version. I simply used the flange for my faucet and added a soap dispenser in the fourth hole. I am actually very happy with the convenience of the soap dispenser. I would recommend this without reservation to anyone stuck with a 30" sink cabinet.
