I installed this "stainless steel" sink it started to rust after a plastic cup was left in it overnight. Then I read the online manual and it says not to leave wet items including a sponge in the sink or it will rust. I have other brands of SS sinks that have never done this.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by KateMarie031 Love this sink
Due to all the negative reviews about hard installation and spotting and rust I almost didn't buy this. My garbage disposal broke a year ago and since I was getting a new sink I wasn't going to replace it until I found what I wanted. I looked for along time and when I saw this sink really loved it. The old one was a 25 inch porcelain with a big lip around it. I tolerated it from the day we installed it so now I'd had enough. I have a 32 inch cabinet. We had to cut the hole bigger but that was no problem. I bought the insinkerstor disposal and it attached perfectly. The whole job, sink, disposal and new faucet took two hours. My son-in-law did it and he is not a professional installer. I'm not sure why people are having problems with this sink spotting and rusting. Mine does not spot nor have I had any rust and I leave things sitting in my sink. After doing dishes I just wash it with my liquid detergent and dry the rim. This has been in since early April. I love this sink and I am very picky. Don't be afraid, buy it! You will love it!

The sink is mounted under a granite counter top. I didn't notice the perfect drain when I bought it but am glad that it has it. The drain looks much better than a standard one. However, it did confuse my plumber. I followed the directions and showed him how to attached the disposal. It mounted under the granite very well. It is well insulated and not noisy. The 18 gauge steel is plenty sturdy. Easy to clean corners. The single bowl makes it easier to wash big pots and pans.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by alway Awesome, but a tight fit into a 30" cabinet
This is a great big sink for your smaller kitchen. We love the generous size of this sink, the perfect drain feature and slim rim edge. Elkay advertises this as the largest sink that will fit into a 30", and it sure is a tight fit, so measure carefully!
Elkay also designed this sink with a flange to attach Insinkerator disposers, but I had a Waste King disposer that uses a different flange for its EZ Mount system. Luckily, Waste King has an adapter (#3101) to make it work with Insinkerator flanges, so that worked out perfectly.
Overall, it's awesome to have a sink this size and quality in a smaller kitchen. I wish the sound-deadening undercoating was a little thicker, but the sink is not at all too loud. It is loud with the disposer on, but I think most stainless sinks are this way. Also, some of the undercoating had to be scraped off in order to the disposer mount to sit flush against the bottom of the drain, but that was an easy fix.
If you order this sink, make sure your local store has it in stock too because I ended returning my original one. It was missing parts and covered in dust, but the store's Customer Service helped me with the exchange.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sinky great sink, unusual hard to find size
I got this sink in late November and am still very pleased nearly three months later. So at least in the short term it is performing well. I had a 25 inch that was a couple inches shallower. This one is very deep and the extra two inches in width, which still fits in my existing base cabinet, makes a big difference in food prep and clean up. A 27" sink was nearly nonexistent in my internet searches, aside from this one. And the price is good
I had this professionally installed, so I can't comment on ease of installation, but the plumber did mention that it fit quite nicely with the garbage disposal (insinkerator).
As to complaints about the stainless steel: i have had no problems with rust. It seems to clean up well. I rinse or scrub it at clean up, depending on what it needs. I don't dry the interior of the sink, but I do dry off the edges, the faucet and just behind it where it meets the counter and the back splash
If you are looking for a sink slightly larger than standard, this is a safe bet.
Tip: open the sink in the store before takng it home, to make sure it doesn't have any damage from travel.
