CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.1 out of 5 by 21 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not For Finishing, Small repairs or Shallow-Good for large filling only The wood fibers do not allow for a smooth finish. Dries very hard, will only use for large repairs where smooth finish is not needed. November 20, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not use on exteriors, especially decks..... After power-washing and sanding my deck, I tested a spot with Elmers Wood Filler Max. It appeared to be a solid patch and for exterior use, so I applied it to several areas on my deck and let it cure for a few days. I then applied three coats of stain and the deck looked great, 6 months ago. Now EVERY place I applied the filler has disintegrated and I now need to dig out all the filler, find a product that works, and start again. June 14, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Use it right away. Dries out quickly If I were cynical, I would think the container lid is designed to allow woodfiller to dry out quickly. It is pretty good stuff if you use it right away. January 11, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Color and Cheap Container The original Elmer's Wood Filler formerly stocked at my Milwaukee Home Depot dried to a yellowish color similar to unfinished pine. I expected the Elmer's Wood Filler Max to be the same, but it turned out be a shade of grey that looks more like concrete than wood. If you're going to be painting over it I guess that's OK, but not so great for other projects. As with the original product, the container does not reseal properly. I keep mine in a ziplock bag which helps a little, but it still dries out over time. November 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product I used this to patch a large and deep area next to the bathtub where the floor had rotted. Because the area was so deep it took 3 applications. However, the product dried incredibly hard and sanded extremely smooth. I was very satisfied with this wood filler. June 8, 2012
