Customer Questions & Answers

We have a pre-fab fireplace and are going to put in gas logs. We would like to know the dimensions of the 32 inch insert

I need a drawing
Asked by: bo
Unfortunately, we have no way to attach a file here. I will see if I can get an image on if there isn't already one there. UPDATE: There is a "Framing Spec" sheet on that shows you all dimensions needed. You can download it. I hope that helps.

Can the top of the frame be removed? I want to stone all the way to the top of the opening, can this be performed?

Asked by: Dame
Hi Dame, Thanks for visiting our site! Removing any part of this Vent-Free Insert is not recommended. According to the manufacturer, "Fireplace screens, hanging rods and necessary hardware are packed with the Mantel Guard/Hood. These screens MUST be installed on the fireplace for safe operation. The required firebox Mantel Guard (Hood) that is supplied with this unit from SureHeat (the manufacturer) must not be modified or replaced with any mantel guard (hood)that /which may be provided by the manufacturer or supplier of the decorative room heater." In regards to finishing the mantle out with stone, "An “L” shaped steel lintel must be installed across the top of the firebox opening where facing materials such as brick or stone are used on the face of the firebox. It acts as a support/firestop. It should be attached to the face of the fireplace with screws and sealed to the fireplace with a heat-resistant sealer". Here is the entire Operator's Manual: Thank you for asking, -Travis

According to the state of Colorado vent free gas fireplaces are illegal to install, why are you selling them?
Asked by: Clark
Hello Clark and thank you for your question. Only certain municipalities in Colorado have codes restricting vent free appliances. They are allowed in other municipalities within the state.

32 in. Vent-Free Firebox Insert is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product It really looks good in the fireplace and is great quality

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product The firebox was a good quality product with a good price. When the fireplace is turns on, the fire bricks inside the box blocks the heat to outside of the box in the back, sides, and on top as they are supposed to. I only wish the picture shows a complete picture as the firebox has approximately 6" metal trim from the opening on top and on bottom unlike the product picture shown. My measurement worked out ok but it may be helpful to someone else to see a complete picture of the firebox. My fireplace pictures doesn't show the fireplace with the fire logs and the guard plate yet but the firebox is doing a great job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A dream come true I have dreamed of building a fireplace for years any this year my dream came true. I love my fireplace! The firebox was a perfect fit for my logs and is well made.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap beware There is no trim kit with this fireplace. It's not even available. You have to drywall up to the edge of the fireplace and use high temperature caulking to fill in around it. If your installing this inside an existing wood burning fireplace there is absolutely no way to trim it out. Also the blower is out of stock and you cannot install it until the blower is installed. Home Depot special order is a joke!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly made Very poorly made. Gaps between top sides and bottom. Ugly aluminum clamps hold top sides and bottom. Not sealed, heat will escape.
