Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Josh Nice looking basic fire log set
The logs are more realistic than other sets of similar price, looks great when burning with the ember bed set up. Not too difficult to install as long as your existing gas hook up is in good condition. My existing gas line was in poor shape and I spent a lot of time fixing that, but once that was done everything went smoothly. My set was missing the raised bar assembly for the fire grate to add more height to the rear log, but I think it looks fine without it and that didn't bother me. Logs arrived well packaged with no chips or damage, and all the necessary components including pipe sealant was included. Instructions were included and were fairly easy to follow.

Assembly and installation instructions were very good and made putting this all together a piece of cake. The finished product looks great in our fireplace and actually looks like a real fire! My wife is very pleased with the results as am I.

I was looking for a relatively inexpensive set of fireplace logs to fit a smaller gas fireplace and to replace a 35 year old set. The Lanier Oak 18 in. log set looks beautiful, they look real and it comes with 6 logs of varying sizes and shapes. Each cement log is unique with a realistic wood look that shows burned and charred marks. They are generously large and after setting them up, they definitely fill up the firebox. The metal gas pipe and sand holder are high quality, and after adding the sand and that "ember glow" stuff, it looks awesome when it's on. And the sand really helps to even out the flame. This is exactly what I was looking for, and it does not look like an inexpensive log set. I was surprised it looks so good and I'm very happy with it. But, be aware that although the description does not mention it, a grate to hold the logs is actually included with the log set. I didn't know that, so I had ordered the Landmann 23 in. Fireplace Grate at the same time, and I'm I glad I did since the grate that comes with the logs is not so good. The Landmann grate is heavier, beefier and looks better and much more appropriate holding up those great logs. Enjoy!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by sgun It could be much easier
The product is very good. The installation could be much easier if correct part is provided. The unit was installed in an existing gas fireplace - shutoff valve on the wall. Simple connection: supply pipe - flared fitting 1 - flex connector - flared fitting 2 - burner. This is should be a 30 minutes installation.
However, flared fitting 1 is not provided. Instead, a valve with flared end was provided. Not comfortable of installing a valve inside the fireplace. Valve could leak cause by heat. Now have to look for flared fitting 1.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wally Great Price & Great Quality Works Great
Just received this set via UPS. Shipping was on time and fast. No broken or missing parts. It took about 30 minutes to install in my existing fireplace that was set up for wood burning with a gas log lighter. I just took out the gas log lighter and bought one "pipe to flare" fitting for a couple of bucks at Home Depot to replace the included valve that came with the set. I have a valve already in the line that worked just fine.
Followed the easy directions and it lit up and worked perfectly.
DON'T waste your money on the more expensive ones at your local fireplace store. This one works great for what it was designed for.
Very Pleased!!! :-)

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Heaterman Venting & pilot safety
I am an EPA certified HVAC/R technician and have several things to add to these comments. Nat gas is lighter than air and will rise/vent out if able to, Propane is heavier than air and will not vent , it accumulates in a low spot and a 10% gas 90% air ratio is optimal for igniting! So the pilot safety requirement is 100% for propane fueled units.
Nat gas logs have for decades existed without any pilot safety or or flakey ignitors. in fact for years many heaters pilot valve was a hand operated valve like a water valve!
if the pilot was blown out, nothing stopped the gas from exiting the little pipe that was the pilot. This is how stove tops were as well. Since natural gas vents, its considered safer, and was able to be used without any pilot safety thermocouple or devices to prove a pilot flame exists. Make up air and venting are critical! and not mentioned much if at all here, the non vented logs are insane to use as described! a good way to see Jesus christ real soon!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by trustyboard Great value! Great performance!
I researched a few different brands and stores before I bought this set. I was almost convinced by a sales rep at a fireplace store that I should buy the "higher quality" set from them at a considerable increase in price. I was concerned about the "you get what you pay for" adage but I went with this set on a hunch. It was incredibly simple to install and works beautifully. One thing that I added to silence the gas hiss is put sand over the burners before adding the rock and embers. I can't emphasize how happy I am with this purchase. It adds that incredible charm of a glowing fire without the mess. Highly recommended!!

Good product for the money. Had to purchase extra parts to install properly. Instructions on installing logs should be made easier to understand. All in all we are happy with the product.
