We bought this set at our local store. No broken logs, as others have complained about. Installation was relatively easy except for one part. (See below.) I guess the manufacturer has fixed the instructions, as I didn't notice any typos, unlike past reviewers.
The logs look and work great. The steel wool embers add a nice touch. You'll probably want to buy some crushed lava rock to surround the burner tray and make it look more realistic, though.
Definitely recommend this product!
One nit, which a few others have mentioned as well: the included bendable 3/8 aluminum pipe is not worth messing with, IMO. I went out and bought an 18" flex pipe instead.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Herbert Broken Parts, Bad whistling sound
Unfortunately, the package arrived with three of the seven 'logs' broken in shipment which seems to be not uncommon. They are being replaced free of charge. The burner is installed and produces a LOUD whistling sound. To operate, gas valve needs to be turned back by over 60%. When I called customer service, I was told that there are no adjustments that can be made and that my gas pressure must be too high. My gas pressure is within the required limits for the product. For now, I have a weak, non-whistling gas fire. Not sure what my next step is. Unfortunate.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by HandymanBJ A nice fire log set
I just bought two of these 24-inch gas fire log sets and I like them a lot with one minor exception - the aluminum gas line provided with the fire log set. I did not feel it would withstand the sharp 180 degree bend that was required in my installation, even if I had used the recommended sand to prevent a tubing collapse during bending (you are to fill the tube with sand prior to bending it); I purchased a flexible gas line instead. The directions for log placment are not clear and addressed only 6 of the 7 logs, but that is a minor gripe as this isn't rocket science. The other nit to pick is that the instructions were full of typos and incomplete words. I do like that the set came with a gas valve, pipe dope, the "glowing ember" rock wool, and the coarse rock for the burner tray (the other big box hardware store did not appear to include those items in their sets). When I fired up the logs they worked very well with nice, well spread out flames and a realistic appearance. An unexpected bonus was that the included the rock material used in the burner tray makes crackling sounds typical of wood fires as it heats up. Finally, I had no problems with the metal knockout in the burner tray (I supported the tray over a slightly open vice and used a hammer and center punch to knock out the metal in one blow). As a point of reference for those reading this, I am a very picky consumer who does all of the repairs and improvements on my home because no one can meet my standards. One final recommendation is that anyone with this fire log set or any other fuel-burning aplliance in their home should have an operating carbon monoxide detector as well.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by MrPatience HORRIBLE-Customer Service from Manufacturer
I don't think I've ever had an issue with an online order quite like this. A month ago, I purchased two sets of logs and 3 of 7 logs were broke in one and 4 of 7 in another! I had read the reviews prior but thought I would role the dice because the manufacturer seemed to be very quick on fixing the situation by sending a new log/s in they arrived damage. WRONG!
I've waited 30+ minutes every time Ive called just to get a live operator. Once I did someone on the line they'd commit to getting it expedited and two times even give me ship dates, but Ive still yet to see any replacements!!
I was given extension #s and email addresses for the reps i worked with but not once has either ever returned my calls or emails. WHAT A NIGHTMARE and I cant believe Home Depot would even work with such a vendor!

I bought this because the store carried it, I liked the detailing, and it advertised flexible gas tube line and valve $20.00 value. I assumed it meant the corregated flex line which I was going to buy anyway. Well its the tubing that everyone has issues with bending. I needed short 90 degress bends, so I couldn't get it to fit after frustrating hours. Came close to taking it back. But I reluctently bought the corregated flex line $10.00 and it was up and working quickly. I didn't like the giant log that sits in front because it blocks the view of most of the flames and embers. So I took it off. Then removed the supports on the large back log. Put the back log on the grate and arranged the remaining logs in front and angling up to the back log. Now i am happy with it. The log with the long Y broke when it heated up. This wasn't an issue for me, just added it in and rearranged my logs, looks great.
