The Emberlight Socket turns your regular light bulbs into smart connected ones. The small socket adaptor installs in seconds and connects wirelessly with your home Wi-Fi network, with no extra hub required. You can then control, program and automate your lights from anywhere in the world using the Emberlight iOS and Android mobile applications.

Yes, as long as it's not in direct contact with the weather (i.e. not waterproof). It has been UL certified for outdoor use in damp environments.

Does the Emberlight app allow automation of the on/off cycle for specific times to repeat everyday without instruction

Hi Charlie - The scheduling feature is not yet released in the emberlight mobile app. However, it is possible to do this using a 3rd party service called IFTTT.

Found the product very simple to install, and works great with my existing LED bulbs - need to make sure they are dimmable, though. Like that there isn't a hub or starter pack, so I'm not forced to commit to the system without trying one first.
