This is by far the most used level I have ever had. I use it on the jobsite at work and at home for pretty much everything. I'm a freak about thinks being level and this particular level has never lost accuracy even dropping 10 feet onto concrete from a skyjack. I wrote another review on the 48" version of this. Look it up for additional details as it's exactly the same as the 24" version just longer. the quality of the milled edges to the great looking anodizing all add to the overall value of this. Do yourself a favor and buy the 24", 48" and the Empire framing square. If you reading this review you wont be disappointing in having all three.

I'm a little surprised to see someone give a poor review because parts of this were made in China.
This is a great level. Incredibly accurate and very well made. It's lightweight (less than 2lbs) and made from 6061 Aluminum milled incredibly smooth on both edges. It has plastic shock caps at the end.
I can see the issue with the blue vials, but I think that would only be a deterrent in lower-lit conditions. In normal light it doesn't seem to make a difference.
It's a great size for bathroom work or other small projects when a 4' is just too big.
Comes with a lifetime warranty, so regardless of where it's made, it's quality that Empire is willing to stand by.

This product is impressive all the way around. It's VERY sturdy & has nice end caps that absorb shock if needed. It just feels like a quality tool in your hand. I was unsure about what to expect with the blue vials, but I actually really like them. In some of the lighting situations I've used the level in, it actually seems to be easier to see than the usual yellow vials. The hand grips are also well made & comfortable, making it easy to maneuver.
This level claims to be accurate to within .0005in, and while I have no way to test that, I also have no reason to doubt it. I used this primarily in a new tile shower shower installation, and 24" was the perfect size. Overall, great level that's perfect for a number of applications.

I do not like the blue vials on this level. They are more difficult to see, compared to yellow vials, in most lighting situations. I also do not care for the fact that it is made in china (except for the vials).
I do like the size, sturdiness, & overall look (except for those vials). The size is perfect for small bathrooms or other such areas where a 4' level won't fit.

My first impression is, HEAVY, but more solid heavy them weight heavy, although it has some heft to it, which I like. Gives me the impression this is a quality tool.
The removable end caps are a nice feature for giving nice lines in corners, hanging door casings etc.. PIcking this up by the center solid one piece hand grips is comfortable. The top and bottom is solid aluminum that isn't smooth but has traction grooves in it. Like semi radius cuts to give the level some grip and keep it from sliding or shifting. This is a nice feature, not having the level slide or slip off your project. The vials are clear and easy to see even with my diminished close up vision.
I was pleasantly surprised at the action of the bubble. My older level has a fast acting bubble, the slightest shift cause the bubble to react too quick, getting that balance difficult. This sight bubble is less responsive and slower moving. That is one of the best features. When you are trying to make that ever so slight adjustment and not have the bubble shift dramatically is very helpful for those who want to center the bubble exactly between the level lines, which by the way are set further out then the width of the bubble. So seeing space between the bubble and level line is beneficial in knowing you have reached as close to center as possible. I plan to treat this level with care and respect, though I feel it can withstand abuse, its such a nice tool that you wont want to get paint on it, or get it all scratched up. Empire did a great job in designing out some of the previous models shortcomings.. The color blue is sharp, the hand grips are comfortable. This ins one of those tools you can tell is built like a rock the second you pick it up. It weighs more then the other level I own that is twice as long.

This level is made very well by Empire. The bubbles ARE easy to read from the 300 degree radius as they said. I like the hand grips on the inside of the handles. It is comfortable and easy to hold at arms length. Shock absorbers on the ends look like they should help save the level on drops from a good distance (I didn't test that feature). I did from a short distance. The verticle bubbles are pretty much the same as other levels. I think the blue lines on the bubble tubes helps view where the bubble sits. Over all I like this level and hope it lasts as long as my first one did. 45 years.

If you are looking for the best then look no further. This level is very accurate - less than 1/80" over 2 feet. Construction is amazing. The top and bottom surfaces have been precision machined making them perfectly flat. There are 3 vials that are easy to see and the ends have rubber pads for protection in the event you drop it. The level is made out of aluminum making it very light and the perfect size for leveling appliances, cabinets, etc.
It's easy to register it for the lifetime warranty by going online and providing the serial number on the tag with the level.
There are absolutely no cons to this level and it will last a lifetime.
Please view the video to see the awesome quality of this level.

Rugged build and materials make this a buy it once and done product, much cheaper in the long run than buying and then replacing cheaper levels.
