Answer:
Hi Jeff, unfortunately we do not offer the carbide tips as a separate item on Homedepot.com. We suggest that you contact the manufacturer, Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation, at 1-800-729-3878 for more assistance. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot!

Answer:
It is not designed for it. I am not sure you can score glass with a carbide point. Glass cutters I have used have all had a chip of diamond as the actual scribing point.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sleek design easy to use and it has a strong magnet This is all you need to protect your investments from theft. Well at least you being able to identify items that are usually without serial numbers etc. If you are able to write clearly then you are able to use this item to mark tools, electronics, or any hard surface really. The sky is the limit. It is also equipped with a strong magnet you can use to pick up metal items. And like a pen it has a clip that can be easily clipped in you shirt pocket or utility work belt. Just be careful of the pointed business end of the scriber as it is sharp. It does come with a clear plastic protector for the tip but that can be easily lost or misplaced. I like the metal slim design as it feels very comfortable in your hand just as any fine writing pen should. I have begun to mark some of my tools and it works perfectly. It will take me some time but I plan to use this scriber tool to mark all my valuables. It cannot keep your stuff from being stolen but it could possibly be alot easier to retrieve you property if recovered by the authorities. August 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty cool I bought this and it is really cool. I make mosaics and I have never been able to cut small mirror tiles in a straight line, because glass cutters have always been really akward for me to hold. You can hold this like a pen or pencil and use it to score the glass. I put a piece of un-cooked spaghetti or a needle under the score line and press down on both sides. I have only done a few, but so far its been clean breaks. I dont really know how long it will last? It says the tip is replaceable. April 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by To the point This pocket scribe is very convenient, and always at the ready, securely attached to your pocket with the the attached clip.. It's sharp point does a real nice job scribbling lines on metal and wood. Also comes with a plastic tip cover to protect your pocket. It also has a magnet at the top, good for picking up small metal parts that you drop, and also easy to hang the scribe up on metal tools and parts while working to keep it handy. May 31, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Stays sharp This scriber makes nice sharp lines on both metal and wood. It is a nice size, and fits well in my pocket. I am not as happy with the magnet. It isn't a problem when I remember to put the scriber back in my pocket, but can be a real problem when I lay it on the bench. It does a good job of attracking metal filings/shavings, even when you don't want it to. I have taken to attaching part of a plastic bag over the magnet end with a rubber band to make it easier to clean. I am not sure why they made the carbide scriber point replaceable. I can not picture ever wearing it out. I may have to touch it up with a diamond file from time to time, but it is not going to wear out in my lifetime. I guess you could break it if you dropped it and it landed just wrong, or if you used it for other things besides a scriber... But you would probably just replace the entire scriber instead of ordering a new tip. It does have one advantage though - you can put other things besides the scriber point in the handle. I would probably end up loosing the scriber point if I tried that... :( October 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pefect We have a little farm and this poor tool gets to make lines for all sorts of applications. We can mark tractor rims, water tanks, and any kind of wood or metal and it performs well. The magnet is useful occasionally as well and the size is perfect to fit in coverall pockets. July 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Quality Item that is a must for the Handy Man.. While it is good to have a few carpenter and mechanical pencils in ones tool box, a GOOD scriber is a MUST. I got this for free for honest feedback and to replace some "antique" scribers that were from my wifes Grandfather that served me well. This scriber however, is clearly "up to date" from the antiques, a good length and good quality. It is a scribe I am sure I will get good and many years of service from . March 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Can't be precise with a chisel tipped marker. A must have for laying out metal; handles like a drafting pencil. March 16, 2015
