I never thought I would be so impressed by a level, but this Empire level is great. It looks nice and is very well made.
The (Made in USA) vials are marked clearly and enclosed so they are well protected. The center vial is easy to view with the 300 degree viewing angle, and the 2 end vials are easy to read too.
The aluminum construction makes it lightweight and although a magnet is not always necessary, it is good to know that it is there if needed. There are 4 yellow areas on the side where the magnets are. The removable endcaps are also a good feature.
After years of trying to do home improvements with levels 4 ft. and smaller, we finally can do the job easier and faster with this one. It is very accurate and I like the lifetime warranty on its performance.

Needed an 8 foot level to level out kitchen cabinets. The level works great and has handles to carry that allow for ease of movement and positioning. Rubberized on the ends. It really helped for the job.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Steve My fifth Empire
I rehab properties so I touch on most of the trades. When framing walls or leveling floors the best accuracy is achieved with the longest levels. I own many levels but the last four I got have been Empire levels. I couldn't be happier with their accuracy and durability. This level is my fifth Empire and it's the longest one I own. The key features for me with all the Empires are the aluminum body, built-in molded grips, the magnetized base, the shock absorbing end bumpers and of course the lifetime warranty is an added bonus. I'm sure this level will give me years of dependable service.

Amazing level from Empire. The long reach of 8-feet allows me to set up concrete forms level the first time; from all sides.
The longer the level the more true your columns, framed walls, and other supporting members will be. Some items such as timbers have minor imperfections that a shorter level won't pick-up. A full 8-foot level provides a more accurate reading.
Long levels are essential for leveling mobile homes and sub-floors that have settled through time.
The longer reach level will come in handy for building our deck.

This Empire level is the perfect solution to spanning 6 16" on center rafters and trusses. This level has the same magnet points as Empire smaller True Blue levels which make them very handy even sticking like glue to nails and screw overhead. This level should be accurate for years to come and as always comes with Empires lifetime warranty. This level is packed with great features besides the magnets as well including removable rubber ends that greatly reduce slippage.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AverageDude Great Level and awesome straight edge
I have several Empire levels and I really like them all. This is a very sturdy and well constructed level. This level works great for many jobs
1) it works well as a long strait edge for cutting
2) finding high/low spots on a concrete floor when installing ceramic tile flooring
3) installing kitchen cabinets
4) installing kitchen countertops
5) spanning several floor joists at once

While I did use this to hang a large projection screen properly, the real reason I got it is for work use.
Where I work, we build very large machines with a lot of conveyors on them. The machines are modular, and are usually between 6-8 feet in length. The conveyors can be hundreds of feet long, and usually need to be level. (Some have intentional inclines in them.)
Trying to level out eight foot chunks of conveyor with smaller levels can be very hit and miss, and this thing absolutely solves that issue. Not only does the work go faster, there is far less measure and remeasure to be sure.
The level itself is a little weighty, but being eight foot long, of course it is going to weigh more than shorter levels. The straight edge is very straight in my testing, and the bubbles are very easy to read.
I only wish I'd thought to get one of these earlier. They aren't always in stock at the store, but if you have a need for a large leveling job (I can see flooring applications for this as well), it would be tough to do better than this beast.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AZHawg Great for levelling long frames
Now, a 96 inch level is not used for most applications, but if you need one, this Empire 96 inch level is teh one you would want. The sides have recessed rare-earth magnets to grab those steel poles so you can get a reading without having to move the level to another location. This allows for greater accuracy when using long framing pieces, such as a pole barn.
