Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best and last square ill buy! Great square for the money. There is better to be had by the die hard carpenters and traditionalist, but for general carpentry you could get better for the money. Been in the business a long time and I always buy Empire. levels and angles are correct. made from thick materials. Don't buy plastic or cheap stuff. it will show in your work March 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Squared up This another of those tools I've wanted for so long. It is highly visible, for my older eyes to find, it is accurate, and a great addition to my tool collection. Makes layout work much easier. October 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Square Living in AZ I prefer tools that can be in the heat and not get to hot. This square was left out in a 100 degree heat and I could still pick it up. The booklet for rafter work seem informative and helpful. I could not do w/ out a square and this one is really great, so light and clearly marked. I am very happy w/ this tool. September 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Professional Grade The Empire High-visibility "speed square" is a sturdy aluminum product. (Made in the USA too) It doesn't have a level built in like my plastic one, but it comes with an awesome little instruction booklet with everything you ever needed to know about its proper use, illustrated standard roofing calculations plus 24 pages of rafter-angle conversion tables. No excuse for cutting mistakes! The high-vis numbers are big enough, but sometimes hard to see against the bright blue glossy surface. I would have preferred a darker base color. I'm keeping the Empire in my tool box along with that great little booklet (in a plastic bag). May 19, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good rafter square Great visibility and perfect size, but soft aluminum, so it gets dinged up easily. Keep it from too much contact with other, harder or sharper construction materials and equipment and it should last a good long time without issue. October 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good visibility for awhile These are nice squares and are hi-vis. The problem is with daily job site use they will become scratched and are harder to read than your standard Aluminum squares. The markings on these are not very deep hence the problem. If you do not mind replacing on a yearly basis then it is a good buy. June 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The bee's knees This square is awesome. I use it all the time for rafter cuts, square cuts, angle cuts, you name it it marks it. It's high quality, the paint's been good on it so far, I've had it for a little over two years of near-daily use. June 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by laser blue square, oh yeah! got it mostly for the color because it's different than the swanson grey, and I don't see that many blue squares on the job sites so helps me to keep up with it better, now I really can't review other than the neat looks because I do electrical and mainly use it to square boards when cutting to add blocking or box in a recessed light can when they hit on a ceiling joist. The only down side is there's no place to put your finger so when you pull it out you can twirl it like a pistol unlike the swanson squares February 25, 2015
