Are the two milled edges parallel?

I assume they are, otherwise you wouldn't get the same reading using either face (and thus the level isn't quite as useful). Just hoping someone could confirm.

Answer:
Yes, the two milled edges are in fact parallel.
This level is perhaps the best box level in a 4ft. length you'll find, and own.

Answer:
You don't. It comes calibrated, ready to go. The vials are epoxied in place, so re-calibration is not possible. If you're level is "off", then return it to Home Depot for a replacement. The level comes with a lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defects.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 24 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great premium level I am not a professional carpenter but i employee a few and they have the same level so i purchased one for myself and couldn't be happier. I have both 24" and 48" versions. I use it mostly at home for projects and general carpentry but i have see this in action on a daily basis in a professional environment. They get used and day long and then ride around in the guys tools boxes bouncing to and from jobsites. these level hold their accuracy well. Its a trusted tool for sure. Its got a substantial feel without being to heavy. The aluminum edges are milled for accuracy not cast like some. The aircraft aluminum is light but can nick easy with steel tools, That's to be expected with aluminum. They are not subject to warping with hot and cold or humidity wich is important in the Midwest. The level is also very nice and professional looking witch is good for client confidence sometimes . all in all its a great purchase. March 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great level. great level obviously. empire and home depot honor the lifetime guarantee. mine read 1/32 off over 48 inches and had no problem getting the issue resolved May 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heavy Duty & Unbeatable Warranty This level is very well made, solid construction, and like the handles for carrying. I purchased it because of the lifetime "True-Blue" Kobalt warranty. I had another level that became inaccurate & Home Depot replaced it without any questions. December 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality level with a lifetime warranty My perspective is from that of a handyman rather than a professional, but so far everything I've experienced with this level tells me that it is well-built. I haven't found anything cheap about its construction. It comes with a lifetime warranty from Empire on materials and workmanship. It's rated to an accuracy of .0005". It's worth noting that the levels seem to work from any angle (for example with the level laying on it's wide-edge, it reads accurately just as if it was on the narrow edge). One thing I do find slightly odd is that it comes with a serial number on a card. I can't find a serial number stamped on the level itself anywhere. But if you are looking for a 48" box level, I can't find any reason not to recommend this one based on its quality and performance. October 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I dropped it... I didn't drop it on purpose though, but it fell about 8 feet onto concrete. This level has an incredible level of protection built in with rubber end caps and glass surrounds. The rubber saved this level from becoming untrue. This is a highly durable and extremely accurate level that is simple to use, easy to read and lightweight enough that it won't wear you out. This is professional grade and I recommend it for anyone from a DIYer to the pros. August 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic What a fantastic level. Accurate beyond belief. The machining finish is a bit rough & should be considerably better for such an accurate level. It feels great in the hand. I really like the hand slots because of the angled ends that tell you if the main bubble is up or down by feel when working in very difficult or semi-blind spots. Then you can find the bubble with a quick glance. And yes you really can see the main bubble from underneath, another benefit when in tight places. July 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sharp looking and very easy to see This is a very well designed level. First the true blue vials make it very easy to read. The Bubble in the center is visible from 3 angles and you dont have to worry about the window getting scratched cause the vial is recessed. The carrying grips a nice feature no one want to drop the level and have it thrown out of whack. I will be using this tool for years to come. August 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of the best levels I have owned. As the title states this is one of the best levels I have owned. My previous set of Stabila levels were stolen, and needed to get something quick on the pinch and these surpassed my expectations. Well built, accurate and can with stand a drop. September 18, 2015
