My 6'true blue is slightly bent and doesn't read level anymore how can I fix that. is there even a way to fix it?

Asked by: natthan
Mine was also out of level on one edge - after 7 years of heavy use, but no visible damage. I contacted Empire and they stood behind their warranty. You can return it to Home Depot even without a receipt and they will replace it or get you in touch with Empire (Milwaukee) for a replacement. I was happily surprised. However, if the frame is bent, that may disqualify it based on user damage. Best to contact them and explain it. Home Depot folks will also examine it. Company is very fair and cooperative.

True Blue 72 in. e2G Professional Box Level is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Level This is by far the nicest level I have ever owned. The six foot size provides accurate leveling for larger projects that require precise measurements. My agenda includes many concrete projects this summer. Setting the forms with this tool will ensure that my form levels are spot on. I recommend this for any level of expertise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect for outdoor projects my husband needed this level for our home gutter installation project. we have a detached garage in addition to our attached garage. the gutter system on our detached garage needed to be adjusted so rain water would flow correctly and drain. he was tired of the clogged gutters. this longer size level made the project go quickly. the design of the level is professional with nice grips and rubber end caps. this makes for a nice design and adds safety from potential sharp ends while working. the level is highly accurate and has a lifetime warranty. this box level is made from pro grade aluminum, which adds to the quality and heft. he would recommend the level for general carpentry, wood framing, plumbing, masonry, and other household uses. he would not suggest this level for drywall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice level There is not too much that can go wrong with a level unless it's a lightweight I-beam that can easily twist and bend just to save a few bucks. This box level has a bit of heft to it given its quality and design but not quite as heavy as more expensive brands which is a bonus. It is true out of the box and makes a great, trustworthy level to have on a jobsite. I personally do not see much difference if the fluid in the level is yellow, pink, blue and so long as you have a bubble it'll work. One thing it's missing is to be magnetic which is always a nice feature to have if you deal with metal working and framing with metal studs and so'll just have to spend a little more to get it. It might be a little more expensive than you would want to spend, but it has a warranty to back it up...I just wish these more expensive levels came with a nice case to protect your investment instead of having to spend more money purchasing it separate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This big boy makes things easy! I had a big siding project coming up and needed a safty net for those long runs of hardi. I always measure and mark each plank but after 50 feet you can get off. This 72" level from empire will save your bacon. We worked the you know what out of this thing, dragging it across hardi all day long and not even a scrape to the finish. This guy is built tough and has some of the best bubble tech on the market, easy to read fast and accurate. If your a pro you need this brand level , Empire hands down is the best. It feels hardcore, check out the video and see!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No complaints Great level! Easy to read. Much more heavy duty than the other 6' Empire aluminum box level sold for $10 less. I actually bought that one first in store but ended up returning it as it seemed too light weight & I thought it would get damaged on the job site or in the truck. I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 because it is only available online not in stores. This is odd since the 2' & 4' versions r sold in store.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I should of double checked I've had this level for a few years now and never thought to double check how accurate it was. We do a lot in old historic houses so using a level as the final say doesn't always happen....eyeballing and level is usually the best mix. Today we were tiling bathroom walls in a newer house and kept getting different lines of level depending on which level we used. Brought it to a tool distributor and compared it to other 72 inch models. Turns out it was off by 5/8 inch over 72 inches. This level is babied so it isn't from damage and vials are epoxied in so most likely came this way. No wonder the last kitchen cabinet install had me cursing up a storm. Home depot thought they would be able to return it but was told to find my receipt or call emipire. Surprisingly I did find receipt so now to get this resolved. Who would of ever thought to check my $69 level with a beat up cheap one. Maybe this one was a fluke but it seems to be a common denominator in tools I buy from the big box stores.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value. Light weight. I like the product so far it is easy to use and light weight for its size since it is all aluminum. I have always wanted a long level for the big homeowner projects. This was a good value compared to others I found offered on the internet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very well built level. You can tell a lot of engineering / design went into this level. It has rubberized ends for drop protection, the weight is balanced impeccably when you're trying to use it one handed, but it's the little things that make a difference. For example, my old level was just a big aluminum I-Beam. This one has slots cut into the body than can be used to carry / hold it one handed and run some cheater nails through when you don't have an extra set of hands to help you. I don't have anything sensitive enough to verify the 0.005" accuracy claims... but I have no reason to doubt it - level things read level and unlevel things read unlevel. Obviously this was designed with pros in mind, and I would expect a pro to show up with a tool like this - not some $5 bargain bin unit. That said, I think serious DIY'ers should consider spending a few extra bucks on a legit level, I've never had a cheap one last. Between the build quality and warranty - this one will probably outlast me. I do think they should have included a laser beam in this though. Considering that you can pick up a laser pointer at the dollar store now days, I doubt it would have affected the price of this unit. Also, I dinged it a star for the beveled edges. A tool like this really serves two purposes: 1) level, 2) straight edge. I can draw a straight line with the beveled edge, but I have to adjust how I line it up to account for the bevel. I shouldn't have to do that in this price range.
