Answer:
Good Morning! Thank you for your interest in our 3-Tier Flower Tower. These towers are designed to be stacked three tiers high. If stacked higher, they do become a bit unstable. Therefore, I cannot recommend stacking them higher than that. Once again, thank you for your interest in this product and we look forward to being of assistance at any time in the future.

Here is the best that I can offer you - not in quarts.. I posted pictures on the HD site, but here is one for reference. These are not separate pots, these 9 are holders. I suppose that you can put soil in, but the pot would be incomplete. I have mine set up with 5" pots in it. I did find that with clay pots, it wasn't well balanced because of the weight. Answer:
The flower towers simply rest on top of each other. Once you add dirt and plants or flowers it will become more stable. Thanks for your question and good luck.

I feel like there is a piece missing. Is there supposed to be a pole or some sort of insert down the middle of the pot?

Answer:
No. I thought so too. If u turn pot upside down, you'll see 3 notches. These fit into top of next pot. Etc.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Planter I had wanted one for quite a while I had seen them and finally located it on home depot how are you I ordered them and they were everything I wanted August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful planter Love this planter. Easy to stack and use. Have bought multiples. July 7, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice planter Planter was easy to setup. I would recommend doing one tier at a time. Also use a 1/2 inch pvc pipe 1 foot long to keep together. Because of warping in thew box, the pots did not line up perfectly, but after a few days they did setup correctly. I will have to wait for the plants to grow to see if they are as nice as picture. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent choice for small growing spaces - balcony, patio gardens I only have a balcony to grow herbs and plant, so this planter seemed like the solution to small space. There were no instructions, so it took awhile to figure out how to stabilize it. I did discover that there are notches on the bottoms of the 3 containers of 3, and they appear to interlock via these. So far, I'm still working on it, but I think it will be wonderful. I'll even submit pictures once the plants grow. I may buy another 2 later in the season, as well. So, I would recommend for the small urban garden, or limited space, for herbs and annuals. It's not large enough for tomatoes, or peppers... April 29, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not sturdy, bad design I purchased this planter for transplanting my herb garden; however, I quickly realized that there are not enough drainage holes. There is a large hole in the center of each layer, but as the weight of dirt bends the plastic, water flows towards the outside "arms" rather than the center. The plastic is quite flexible, and when layering, the sections do not nest correctly, making the unit unsteady. Rather than return, I poked holes in each "arm" of each layer (philips head and hammer worked fine without splitting/cracking the plastic), and I used each layer separately rather than stacking. If you are looking for a stackable unit like the product image displays, note the nesting feature may not work. Perhaps the plastic was not molded properly? April 7, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by plant, plant, plant, we all love the beauty of life!!!! This was not at all the size of pots I thought I was getting. Not much you can plant in them with out having to transplant and transplant ,it makes the plants look clustered.. not one of my best buys online but it happeneds..I keept it.So it wasnt that bad it's usable I just don't stack them,to each Their own.. enjoy August 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love Mine! This is something different and I have had mine for the last two summers. It is as good as new. Mine has a chain which goes through it from which you can hang the planter. I hang it on a Shepard's Hook, but it is very heavy when you water it. The chain also helps keep the three tiers together. You can stack them higher but know that you have to make sure you water each and every section, so it takes time. Mine said "self watering" when I bought it online, but it is not. Water goes from top to bottom as you might expect but it goes from the top row directly to the bottom row, skipping the middle row. I would definitely buy again, as a matter of fact I think I'll buy two more this summer. Enjoy, there's no time like flower time! January 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LOOKS GREAT! I am having problems getting the layers to fit together right. I like the looks of the planter. June 3, 2015
