Customer Questions & Answers

How do you attach the tiers to each other? My husband put A and B together but there is another B and it won't lock into anything else.

This was a gift and it is great if we can get the tiers to all lock. If I don't hear anything with in a week, I am sending it back.
Asked by: Lee1225
You should be able to interlock all 3 together - I squeezed the last one a little to make it fit.

Do you put soil directly into the planter or plant the herbs individually in pots then place in the planter?

Asked by: Darl
I plan to put some drainage rocks at bottom, then plant the herb/flower directly into the pot and add soil to support it. You could put the pot into the holder also, but then your roots are restricted to a smaller volume.

what are the dimensions of each tier? I guess each has three things that look like three pots. I would like to know the size of each little ones

Asked by: planters
Each pot hold 2.5 inch plant/flower. There are 9 total.

What is the capacity (in quarts) and diameter of each pot? And do each of the nine pots have drainage holes?

I'm wondering if this unit can be used to grow lettuces, in addition to herbs. Thanks!
Asked by: MBN
The pots are not included with the vertical wall planter. Each unit will hold 4 pots up to 4" in diameter. Thanks for your question and good luck.

There were no holes in the bottom of each pot- only a large hole in the center of each tier that had a slightly raised lip around it. I simply used an old ice pick and punched a hole in the bottom to prevent to much water from sitting in the pot. Otherwise I am very pleased with my tiered pot. I planted pansies in it and they are just starting to bloom and fill out. It looks really nice. Next year, I may try wave petunias.....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent choice for small growing spaces - balcony, patio gardens I only have a balcony to grow herbs and plant, so this planter seemed like the solution to small space. There were no instructions, so it took awhile to figure out how to stabilize it. I did discover that there are notches on the bottoms of the 3 containers of 3, and they appear to interlock via these. So far, I'm still working on it, but I think it will be wonderful. I'll even submit pictures once the plants grow. I may buy another 2 later in the season, as well. So, I would recommend for the small urban garden, or limited space, for herbs and annuals. It's not large enough for tomatoes, or peppers...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3-tier Herb and Flower Planter The planter is larger than what I expected and it takes up a bit more space sitting in front of my window, but overall it is sturdy and the plastic plant holders are stable. The plant holder trays are rather deep and will fit small to almost medium sized planters but be sure to measure your plant containers first. The bottom tray sits on the base without any snaps to hold it while the other two trays have snaps that hold them onto each other. They are a bit hard to snap on but firm pressure will get them to snap. I have several plant containers in the tower now as I have started some herbs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Makes a nice planter Got two for myself and put them together. I suggest you put a 1/2 PVC pipe in the middle to steady. I got some small cel pack of a dozen plants for each and some soil and assembled. I got many compliments and gave them for mother's day gifts with the flowers

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Attractive - Great Idea - Needs Balance This planter is very attractive and sturdy. It's a great idea, especially for herbs. And fantastic that in the winter I can bring them inside! Let me just point out that it is January so I don't have any full bloom plants to show you. But this planter inspired me to plant some seeds/seedlings and get my herb garden started early. At first I thought the hole that goes thru the center was for a pole to hold it together but it is a drainage hole. The layers have little lips to hold them in place. However, when you place the pots inside, if they are not balanced the whole thing comes toppling over. I read the label and followed the manufacturer's suggestion. But it might be better to put the dirt inside without any pots and that will keep it nice and balanced. It has good drainage holes and a nice pan bottom to catch any excess water and dirt, so either indoor or outdoor would be good options. It is very pretty - the color is very nice. I decided I am going to keep it on the front porch in the summer because it matches the border trim and will look beautiful when the plants are in full bloom. My overall rating would have been excellent if it was balanced somehow. It is also made in the USA. :O)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Neat idea The product displays plants and herbs very nicely. No need to take them out of their pots. You can place them, pots and all, right into the planter sections. It's a little taller and wider than I thought it would be but the plastic is durable and not flimsy at all. As a previous reviewer, the upper trays snap in place and I'm still working on that. A nice way to keep my plants together in one location. Just need to find the right sized place for it now. I don't want to keep knocking into it and having it fall over.
