Product Overview

The Emsco Group Outdoor TrimFree Bedrocks Edging creates a beautiful edge border to enhance your garden or lawn with a look of stacked slate, great for adding definition to any border around your flower beds, mailbox area, playground, etc. The exclusive TrimFree feature forms a barrier to prohibit grass or vegetation growth so no edging is needed after mowing; just mow grass to the edge and no "weed whacking" is necessary. It adjusts to a 180-degree angle at the joints to easily form right angles, curves and bends. The edging is easy to install; simply tap in the extra long spikes to each piece (10 included) with a hammer or mallet. Each pack contains enough edging to cover approximately 20 ft., with all necessary endcaps and spikes included.

  • Flanged side forms a barrier that prohibits the growth of grass
  • Adjusts up to 180-degree angle at the joints to form right angles, curves and bends
  • Attractive stacked-slate border looks great for any application
  • Hammer-in edging system with extra long spikes that hold each piece in place
  • 5-year factory warranty

Customer Questions & Answers

Does it come with spikes to anchor the enging

Asked by: George
Yes, it does come with anchors but my experience with the anchors was the shorter ones would not hold the product in place. I live in Florida with very sandy ground so I spent the extra money and purchased the longer black spikes and they have worked in holding my edging in place for the last month.

Is this appropriate to edge a driveway?

Asked by: lilly
My answer would be no. You'd have to get the flat side of the product to line up exactly with the top of the driveway on a level plane. I'd think this would be a major pain to achieve.

Understanding that each section is approx 12" long. I am going to place them around my 15'x30' pool. What is your suggested amout to purchase?

How many sections per order?
Asked by: Leo5213
First, each piece is 15" effectively (from spike to spike.) You get 16 pieces per box. 16 x 15" = 240" = 20' as advertised. 15' = 180" / 15" per piece = 12, so each 15' section of your pool would need 12 pieces. You have, in effect, six 15' sections (counting the 30' as two 15'), so you need 72 pieces. 72 pieces / 16 pieces per box = 4.5 boxes, so you need to buy 5 boxes to go completely around your pool. If you don't need to go all around it, I hope my math will help you figure out how much you do need.

Not made to stack, not sure how that would work, or stay in place.

Instead of using the stakes provided to hold it in place, I secured them to 2"x 6" pressure treated boards with exterior screws, and then back filled with top soil. I cut the long stakes in half to plug the top holes and left the bottom holes open. By securing the bedrock to the boards it will prevent them from moving if accidentally by the lawn mower. As you can see the project is not completed but I am very pleased with the product. The slate appearance really dresses the area up and the sections were easily attached together. As you can see from the pictures they can be positioned to form various shapes. The product was scheduled for a two week delivery and I received them in three days.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks nice. More form than function. Good looking edging however not very functional. After leveling the surface on which it was installed and putting the stakes in it flexes when I mow my yard. So I removed all of it and filled the void on the inner part with dirt and made the stakes more secure and it still flexes and pops out all of the stakes. Removing all of it this weekend and throwing it away. Would work well for an area you don't intend to mow or touch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy to install I love this product. It was so easy to install. It is plastic, but looks pretty good. I lined my beds with it to keep the mulch contained. I am a 64 year old woman and did the whole bed by myself in less than one hour.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Look good but poor construction This edging looks great, however, I end up having to hammer them back into the ground almost daily. The stakes barely reach into the ground and really need to be twice as long to provide any real support. I also had a few stakes that ended up hammering right through the main edging material rendering that stake hole useless. Lastly, the product states that it's meant to have the wheel of your lawn mover ride over the edge. Doing so however, caused about 20% of the stakes to pop up and get run over and torn up. I ended up having to open an extra box that I was going to return just to get some replacement stakes - waste of $50!

The only issue I encountered was that the spike holes loose their integrity if you are too forceful with the spikes. So when inserting them, use a light touch.
