What is the weight of the shovel? I'm a senior widow and for Portland Or we are having snow and ice storms 4 in the last month. The snow drift were 18 inches. I have corner property residential area homes in the 1928 era. I'm 76 and 5ft 95lbs Do you have a shovel you would suggest for me? I looked at ergonomic styles but width length weight to much. I'd thought an adjustable handle would be better do to my size very petite and no one else to help all live in other states. Appreciate your thoughts....thank you!

Good Morning Dia! I think that you have picked the shovel that is most appropriate for your size and situation. I agree with you that the ergonomically designed shovels are unfortunately too heavy for most. The shovel that you are referring to here works well and is pretty light-weight. This is the shovel I use for my own home. I wish you a great winter season.

Big handle is comfortable and curved scoop with raised edges holds a good amount of snow. My only concern so far is that the plastic scoop seems to be wearing down quickly on the cement surfaces we shovel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit heavier than I expected I bought this shovel during an online promotion, so I did not realize that it is a little heavier than I expected. Even though it seems like a very sturdy, strong shovel, I was after a very lightweight shovel. The one I had was similar, but lighter, which made shoveling easier. Of course, you sacrifice longevity with the lighter shovel, but mine lasted about four years, so it is worth it to me. I ended up finding a nice, very light shovel in a local store. Bottom line... this is a very solid, shovel, that I would expect to last quite a long time. It is lighter than many shovels out there, so I think it is a great choice, unless you are like me, and want the lightest shovel available.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not worth it.. Purchased 4 of these shovels to be ready for another long winter. The morning after our first snow fall and 2 of the 4 have already cracked at the base where the handle meets the shovel. Would have expected at least one season out of them...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for. I've been using Big Foot snow shovels for many years and love their size, design and durability. Last winter my 10 year old one finally split, so I decided to take advantage of the sale with free shipping from Home Depot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Emergency Prep I was surprised, being from NJ, that you didn't have a snow shovel in your Alabama stores. I ordered it online and it was just what I wanted. A light snow shovel for some light snow, if the need for it comes in Alabama.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shovel for any type of storm This is one of the best snow shovels sold. It is great for any type of storm, without a metal edge it is much better on pavers and surfaces that shouldn't be scratched up. I highly recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This Is Not A Good Shovel For Heavy Snow I purchased this shovel thinking that it would hold up to heavy snow. The young men that did try to use the shovel ended borrowing my neighbors shovel that was more durable.
