Just wondering if they have to be put into the ground or if they can flourish in a pot? Could I keep them in the plastic container I purchased them in instead of emptying the container and planting in a pot?

Answer:
These hydrangea grow well in containers and in the ground. I would recommend however getting a larger pot (3+ gallon size) to plant it in so it has space to grow. If you leave your plant in the container it arrived in for a long period of time the roots may get root bound

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by NICE PLANTS BUT ONLY ONE IS BLOOMING B oth Plants have brown spots on leaves. One arrived with flowers and still has flowers. The other arrived with no buds or flowers and still doesn't have any flowers. And it has been almost two months. August 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely Blooms All Summer I've really enjoyed growing the hydrangeas because they bloom nonstop all summer long and look so pretty. These two were planted in earlier this season and two tablespoons garden lime has been given to each plant probably two or three times to encourage pink blossoms. A few of the stems are supported with small to medium sized stakes. August 18, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by gal summer hydrangea good quality. well hydrated, not root bound like the other plants i recieved July 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful This is a very hardy hydrangea...tolerates sun well...Blooms all summer unlike the old type of hydrangeas....The only kind I will buy....Go to store and buy this I wouldn't order online ...I like to pick out my plants and know what I'm getting...Love these hydrangeas and hope you do to ! Just remember to go to store to buy..not online... May 3, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Of the 15 hydrangeas that I ordered, 6 arrived in very poor condition due to inadequate packaging and poor handling Endless Summer hydrangeas are great - no complaints about the plant itself. I ordered 15 1-gallon pots, thinking that a larger pot would mean stronger plants. The hydrangeas were much smaller than what I expected and they have been struggling for the past 2 weeks - mostly because of the wind I'm assuming) even though the weather has been mild.
